Data Engineer

  • Initial12 month max-term contract with view to move to permanancy

About the Role

We're growing our Data & Analytics capability and are looking for multiple Data Engineers to join our team.

Working closely with our Data Leaders and broader data team, you'll help design, build and support Kinetic's enterprise data platforms and warehousing solutions. This is a hands-on role where you'll work with large and complex datasets, develop scalable data pipelines, and help enable trusted data across the business.

This opportunity suits a Data Engineer at the beginning of their career, with some experience in modern cloud data environments who enjoys solving problems, improving data quality, and delivering reliable data solutions that support business decision-making.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the ongoing development and operation of Kinetic's enterprise data platforms.
  • Designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
  • Developing and supporting data warehousing solutions within Microsoft Azure.
  • Managing data ingestion, transformation and integration processes.
  • Supporting platform administration, performance monitoring and troubleshooting activities.
  • Working with large and complex datasets to deliver high-quality data solutions.
  • Contributing to technical documentation, data models and data flow design.
  • Collaborating with Data Engineers, developers and business stakeholders across the organisation.

What You Bring

  • Experience building ELT/ETL pipelines and working with SQL.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and database management principles.
  • Experience with Azure technologies such as Data Factory and/or Synapse Analytics.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python or other data engineering tools and languages.
  • Experience working with APIs and system integrations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team environment.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise data environments.
  • Exposure to Azure data platforms and cloud-based data solutions.
  • Experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps or code versioning practices.
  • Experience supporting analytics, reporting or visualisation teams.
