Job Description

Data Engineer

Stockholm or Gothenburg, Sweden

Hybrid way of working

Do you want to help build smart, scalable, and sustainable data solutions that truly make a difference—for both society and individuals? At Fujitsu, we combine our Japanese corporate culture, where people are at the centre, with the power of technology to create tangible value in the world. We are now looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing Data & AI team.

As a Data Engineer at Fujitsu, you will have the opportunity to work with some of Sweden’s most exciting companies, government agencies, and municipalities. You will build modern data platforms, data lakes, and pipelines—often in the cloud—and become a key contributor to our customers’ data-driven journeys. You will work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders, helping to develop solutions that are robust, scalable, and business-critical.

We are looking for someone who not only enjoys coding pipelines but also has a holistic view of data architecture, performance, quality, and security.

Working as a consultant at Fujitsu requires you to be proactive, take responsibility, and work both independently and as part of a team. You have a strong customer focus and a clear business mindset, and you understand the context in which you operate. You thrive in social environments, are attentive, analytical, flexible, and good at networking. You have strategic insight and see the opportunities that digitalisation brings. You enjoy taking responsibility and can work both independently and collaboratively.

As our future Data Engineer, you will:

  • Act as an advisor to our customers regarding data infrastructure, integration, and best practices
  • Design and develop robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows in cloud environments ( primarily Microsoft Azure/Fabric—both cloud and on-premises; experience with AWS, GCP, or Databricks is a plus)
  • Architect and implement data lakes, data warehouses, and modelling layers that enable analytics, dashboards, and machine learning solutions
  • Work hands-on with Python (or similar), SQL, and tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake, or similar
  • Adapt to different customers and industries by understanding their data needs and tailoring solutions accordingly
  • Collaborate closely with BI developers, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders
  • Apply best practices in data quality, data governance, and security across different environments
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and mentor junior engineers when needed

Your profile

You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Development, Engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent work experience, and have at least 4 years of experience working as a Data Engineer or analytical engineer.

You bring:

  • Experience building modern data solutions in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Strong experience working with ETL/ELT processes and integrating data from multiple sources
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Delta Lake
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
  • Experience with data warehouse platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, BigQuery, or Redshift
  • Understanding of data modelling techniques such as dimensional modelling or Data Vault
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly in a business-oriented way
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in customer-facing environments
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • A proactive mindset, strong customer focus, and the ability to take ownership and responsibility

It is considered a strong merit if you:

  • Have experience with Power BI, DAX, and Power Query M
  • Hold certifications in Azure, Microsoft Fabric, or other relevant technologies
  • know about data governance and data security
  • Have experience working in agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Have experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps tools
  • Have experience working closely with analytics, BI, or machine learning teams

What is in it for you?

You will take on a strategically important consulting role where you will help customers design and implement modern data platforms and become truly data-driven organisations. You will work alongside experienced colleagues in Data & AI, consulting, and delivery, with access to continuous learning, flexible ways of working, and exciting projects across multiple industries. Competitive salary, strong benefits, and the opportunity to grow your career in a global technology leader are included.
