Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer 3 to design, build, and support scalable data pipelines and platforms. This role requires strong ETL/ELT, cloud data, performance optimization, and production support experience, along with close collaboration across architecture, analytics, and application teams.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines and data integrations.
- Develop scalable and high-performance data solutions across enterprise and cloud platforms.
- Troubleshoot pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and data quality issues.
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code aligned with engineering standards.
Architecture & Engineering Standards Alignment:
- Apply architecture patterns, enterprise engineering standards, and data best practices in development work.
- Work with architects, platform engineers, and senior engineers to align solutions with enterprise standards.
- Contribute to improving data engineering frameworks, standards, and ways of working.
- Balance performance, cost, and long-term maintainability in design decisions.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner with analytics, application, product, and business teams to translate requirements into data solutions.
- Participate in design and code reviews to improve quality, consistency, and maintainability.
- Own assigned data domains, pipelines, or platform components.
Operational Excellence & Reliability:
- Monitor and improve pipeline reliability, performance, data freshness, and cost.
- Support production operations, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive fixes.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, privacy, and retention policy standards.
- Improve observability through actionable alerts, SLAs, and operational metrics.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Development, or similar roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
- Strong experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and lake/lakehouse architectures.
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Azure Synapse. Exposure to Microsoft Fabric is preferred.
- Advanced SQL skills and strong hands-on experience with Python, Spark/PySpark, dbt, and Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
- Exposure to streaming technologies such as Kafka, Event Hubs, or Kinesis, and data formats such as Parquet, Avro, and JSON.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver independently in complex, large-scale environments while collaborating cross-functionally with strong ownership and accountability.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer Associate, AWS Data Engineer Associate, or Google Professional Data Engineer are a plus.
- The ability to communicate digitally, verbally and in writing with local and international team members - fluency in English is required.
- Should be flexible to work in the evening hours to maintain the communication with the USA teams.

Work Schedule:
The position follows a split‑shift work schedule from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM IST and 7 PM to 11:00 PM IST, to support the U.S.A offices.
