Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing robust extract, transform, and load (ETL) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including architects, data analysts and business users to create high-quality solutions
• Support data modelling initiatives to ensure data quality and accessibility
• Maintain and ensure data quality, integrity, security and consistency across multiple data sources and platforms
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database, pipeline and integrations issues where and when needed
• Monitor platform performance and optimize costs to ensure efficiency and scalability
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences and contribute to process improvements
• Manage tasks independently while thriving in a collaborative environment

Skills and Experience

• 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL development, or Business Intelligence development
• Strong ability to work with structured and semi-structured data
• Proficient in SQL and Python (PySpark) for data engineering and transformation
• Practical experience with notebook-based engineering environment (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Jupyter) or other widely used enterprise or cloud-based data notebooks
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data services; Microsoft Azure and Fabric are assets
• Understanding of database architectures and design principles, including data warehousing, non-relational databases and medallion architecture concepts
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality solutions
• Experience in the accounting and professional services industry is an asset
