The Opportunity
Join KBR as a Data & Configuration Manager within the Land Vehicle Systems Branch (LVSB) You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to support the sustainment of Medium and Heavy Vehicles, Modules and Trailers. By ensuring the integrity and accuracy of configuration data, you will enable effective maintenance, upgrades, and operational deployment, directly contributing to the capability and readiness of Australia’s Medium Heavy Capability fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice on, develop, and maintain data and configuration management processes, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Prepare and maintain Data Management Plans, Configuration Management Plans, and associated project documentation.
- Support the Commonwealth in obtaining technical certification for Mission System upgrades, including the review of technical artefacts and data management deliverables.
- Support Engineering Change, Configuration Management, and Engineering governance processes.
- Plan, document, coordinate, and schedule Project Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).
- Establish, maintain, and control Configuration Item (CI) data within Defence Configuration Management tools, including CMT-L and ERP systems.
- Monitor configuration products and documentation through approval and governance processes.
- Review Prime Contractor Configuration Management deliverables and technical data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Provide input to engineering reviews, project meetings, configuration forums, and risk review activities.
- Develop and maintain physical data models, dictionaries, accession lists, and related data governance artefacts.
- Maintain technical, contract, configuration, and information management records and conduct quality assurance activities to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Develop, maintain, and administer configuration and data management databases, including Defence Configuration Management databases.
- Manage and maintain JIRA workflows in support of configuration and engineering change activities.
- Provide administrative and configuration management support for Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), SG002s, Baseline Status Changes (BSCs), and related change management documentation.
As the ideal candidate you will bring:
- Minimum of 5 years’ Defence-related experience in data and configuration management, preferably within land vehicle platforms or complex Defence systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline preferred; alternatively, an Advanced Diploma or equivalent Defence industry experience will be considered.
- Strong understanding of Defence Configuration Management principles, practices, and governance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience using Configuration Management tools and systems, including CMT-L, ERP platforms, databases, and JIRA.
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience in Configuration Management, Configuration Baseline Management, and Engineering Change processes.
- Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary Defence project and sustainment teams.
- Strong working knowledge of ASDEFCON and its application within Defence projects and contracts.
- Demonstrated experience managing configuration data, technical data, engineering documentation, and contractor deliverables.
- Hold a minimum of a Baseline Defence Security Clearance (mandatory).
