Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and technical minded individual to join us as aData Collection Technician on a 12 Month Fixed Term contract. Working within our Road Science business, you will be part of an innovative team that promotes change through harnessing creative potential to deliver new and innovative solutions to the pavements industry.

In this role you will use state-of-the-art technology to capture high resolution and precise condition data on the New Zealand road network in a way that is safer, faster and more accurate than traditional techniques. You will process, analyse and report this data for use in road infrastructure design and asset management.

Based out of our Tauranga depot, there is a significant travel component to this opportunity. This role requires nationwide travel, the flexibility to stay away from home, and someone who is confident driving New Zealand roads.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

  • Full Class 1 NZ Drivers Licence is essential
  • Flexibility to work the required hours, and to travel and stay away from home
  • Strong computer skills. Experience in coding and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is a bonus.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate and listen to clients.
  • Analytical Thinker, able to Identify and maximise improvement opportunities.
  • Fast learner with the ability to adapt and learn new systems that enhance the road condition survey business.
  • Experience operating and maintaining vehicles and/or basic machinery.
  • A relevant science based tertiary qualification or equivalent experience preferred but not essential
