The Data Center Technician Mid supports day-to-day SEC data center operations under the SEC ISS2 contract by performing hands-on installation, configuration,logistics, and tracking activities for infrastructure and test equipment. This role helpsmaintainavailability and reliability across SEC data center environments through disciplined execution of moves, adds, changes, and documentation. The technician manages physical security controls, key access, and organization of controlled data center spaces whilemaintainingaccuratesoftware and asset records in DCIM tools. The position directly supports SEC operationalobjectivesfor resilient, well-documented, and auditable infrastructure services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Center Operations and Equipment Deployment
Perform daily on-site data center support activities across the Primary Data Center (PDC, Manassas, VA), Alternate Data Center (ADC, Edison, NJ), SEC HQ (Washington, DC), and regional environments, including hardware installations, de-installations, and moves/adds/changes.
Install, stage, and configure infrastructure and test equipmentin accordance withapproved standards and procedures.
Validaterack, cabling, power, and connectivity requirements during implementation and turnover.
Support scheduled maintenance windows and 24x7x365 emergency operational response activities, including two-hour response when directed.
Configuration and DCIM Administration
Install and manage configurations for all assigned test equipment used for validation and troubleshooting.
Maintain DCIM tool data for asset placement, rack layouts, configuration state, and lifecycle status.
Update software configurations and records to keep infrastructure inventory and configuration baselines current.
Assistwith capacity, configuration, and availability tracking data used for operational reporting.
Physical Security and Access Control
Manage physical security practices for data center spaces, including key access control and accountability.
Enforce access procedures for authorized staff, contractors, and escorted visitors.
Maintainorganized, labeled, and controlled rack, cabling, and equipment areas to support safe operations.
Support physical security audits and remediation actions for compliance with contract and site standards.
Logistics, Coordination, and Operational Tracking
Coordinate with engineering, operations, service desk, and vendors to schedule and complete data center tasks.
Track tickets, work orders, and change activities through completion withaccuratestatus updates.
Maintainrequired documentation, including rack elevations, wire maps, and configuration details.
Contribute to incident triage support, follow-up actions, and handoff reporting for ongoing operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
This position is restricted to U.S. citizens only. Applicants must not hold dual citizenship with any other country to be eligible for work under this contract.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering). In lieu of degree, additional experience may be required.
Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust.
4+ years of experience in data center support, including administration of equipment installations and configurations.
Hands-on experience performing installations, configurations,logisticscoordination, and control/tracking in production data center environments.
Mustpossessa BICSI Certification or equivalent.
Data center equipment installation and configuration management.
Test equipment installation, setup, and configuration control.
DCIM tool administration and software configuration management.
Physical security and key access control for controlled technical spaces.
Operational documentation and tracking for assets, configurations, and data center activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supporting federal IT infrastructure operations in a regulated environment.
Familiarity with multi-site data center operations, including primary/alternate site support.
Experience using ITSM/change-management workflows (e.g., ticketing, MAC tracking, operational handoffs).
Working knowledge of data center capacity metrics and rack/power/coolingutilizationreporting.

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
