Project Overview
We are seeking Data Center Level 2 Technicians to support a large-scale rack deployment project in Colorado City, Texas. Level 2 technicians will provide system validation, testing and troubleshooting support while coordinating with Level 1 technicians and remote engineering teams.
The Data Center Level 2 Technician will focus on logical implementation, system validation, testing and issue triage for deployed data center racks. This individual will help determine whether deployment issues originate from physical hardware and connections or from the logical and software environment. Level 2 technicians check the onboard systems by running validation tests, interacting with the lower-level software stack and determining whether a problem is physical or logical.
Responsibilities
• Execute approved tests and validation procedures on deployed data center racks
• Perform basic system health checks and review test results
• Interact with the lower-level software stack using approved tools and procedures
• Identify, categorize and triage hardware, connectivity and logical issues
• Correlate physical symptoms with system or software behavior
• Determine whether an issue requires physical remediation, logical troubleshooting or remote engineering support
• Guide Level 1 technicians through physical inspections and approved remediation steps
• Confirm whether physical repairs or connection changes resolve reported issues
• Collect logs, screenshots, test results and other required evidence
• Document findings, actions taken and final outcomes
• Escalate complex issues to remote deployment or engineering teams
• Follow established MOPs, SWIs, change-management and escalation procedures
• Support day, night and weekend coverage in a 24/7 environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience supporting data center deployments, server hardware, compute racks or integrated systems
• Experience executing system tests and hardware validation procedures
• Understanding of server hardware, rack components, cabling and connectivity
• Basic experience with command-line tools, diagnostic utilities or lower-level software environments
• Ability to distinguish physical issues from logical or software-related issues
• Experience reviewing logs, alerts, test results or system status information
• Familiarity with incident triage, escalation procedures and technical documentation
• Experience working with remote engineers or deployment teams
• Ability to follow detailed MOPs, SWIs and change-control requirements
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly
• Availability to work day, night or weekend shifts
