Overview

75% Nationwide Travel | 25% Local Market Work

Our client is building a specialized team of Level II Data Center Technicians to support large-scale infrastructure modernization projects within hyperscale data center environments. This team will be responsible for replacing coax cables with new fiber-optic infrastructure across multiple data center locations nationwide.

Technicians will serve as the initial deployment team at each site, helping establish best practices, workflows, and operational procedures during the first 6-8 weeks of each project. Once a site is successfully ramped up, the team will transition to the next location to support a new deployment.

During periods between travel assignments, technicians will support ongoing operations within data centers located in their home market.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced data center professionals who can quickly integrate into projects, work independently, and provide technical leadership from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform replacement and installation of fiber-optic infrastructure within active data center environments.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and cabling issues.
  • Support cable removal, installation, routing, dressing, labeling, and testing.
  • Assist with establishing site processes, procedures, and operational standards for new deployments.
  • Maintain compliance with data center safety and quality standards.
  • Work effectively in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.
  • Travel extensively to support projects across multiple locations nationwide.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to work independently and adapt to changing project needs.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 75% nationwide travel.
  • Typical travel rotations are approximately two weeks at a time before returning to the home market.
  • All travel arrangements will be coordinated by the client.
  • Approved travel-related expenses will be reimbursed according to company policy.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
