Salary Range The full pay range for this role is $120,800 - $201,300. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.

Scope of Job

The Data Center Solutions Manager supports the Director in developing and executing strategies for behind-the-meter (BTM) or co-located power offerings for data centers, cryptocurrency operations, and power-to-X (P2X) customers across the company’s operational assets and development sites. This role focuses on pipeline management, transaction execution, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver BTM solutions, bridging strategic planning, product management, and commercial execution.

Work Location: San Diego/Rancho Bernardo with 3 days on-site (on-average)

Responsibilities

  • Business Development
    • Originates and develops BTM products (data centers, crypto, P2X, etc.), which may include structuring deals and contributing to or leading preliminary negotiations.
    • Supports the building and maintaining of customer and partner relationships across target markets; may represent the team in customer meetings and cross-functional collaborations.
    • Identifies, qualifies, and pursues load customers for co-location opportunities and joint venture partnerships with the project portfolio.
    • Responds to customer RFPs, contributes to the development of materials to attract potential co-location partners and power purchasers.
    • Attends industry conferences, contributes to the development of EDFps’ thought leadership in the market; may represent the company at market and regulatory forums.
  • Operations
    • Manages the deal pipeline for leads and existing BTM opportunities, contributing to reliable tracking, analysis and reporting to support investment decisions.
    • Provides project support from early evaluation through offtake execution, ensuring seamless handover to implementation teams.
    • Collaborates closely with Technical Services, Development, Project Finance, Valuations, Regulatory and Legislative Affairs, and Operations teams to evaluate and execute BTM transactions.
  • Strategy
    • Contributes to building EDF ps’ market intelligence and competitive positioning; assists in identifying and refining product offerings according to market factors and customer segment requirements.
    • Contributes to regulatory findings and policy development efforts to enable BTM and co-location structures in North America.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision of Others Not at this time.

Working Conditions:

Approximately 75% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 25% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites in additional to attending various conferences and meetings.

Fiscal Responsibilities

Contributes to the development of and operation within the departmental budget.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, mathematics, or related discipline required; a graduate degree (MBA, MEng, etc.) or professional certifications (e.g., PMP) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the power, renewable energy, data center, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience in project structuring, due diligence, or capital improvements in energy markets is preferred.
  • Experience with asset optimization, capital improvements, or operational turnarounds is preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of project finance, financial modeling, and spreadsheet analysis, required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory affairs frameworks, policy development or utility market structures.
  • Analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with comfort in preparing and presenting to prospects, customers, and management.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling tools, reporting and Excel software.
  • Familiarity with power/renewable markets, including BTM project structures and market/regulatory dynamics.
  • Proven ability to drive for results, prioritize tasks, balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with business development and customer relationship management.
  • Familiarity with project finance, tax equity, and partnership structures preferred.
