A Day in the Life of a Data Center Project Manager

Do you thrive on delivering complex, high-tech projects that power the digital world? Are you energized by building relationships, solving challenges, and driving results? If so, you’ll love being a Data Center Project Manager at Granger.
As a Data Center PM, you will:
  • Lead mission-critical projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and technical requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Manage key project processes, including RFIs, submittals, schedules, and cost tracking.
  • Oversee project schedules, coordinate MEP and BIM processes, and ensure compliance with data center standards and commissioning protocols.
  • Write subcontracts and purchase orders, monitor budgets, and proactively resolve issues to keep projects on track.
  • Deliver projects to closeout with a zero-punch list goal and comprehensive handoff.
  • Represent Granger’s values of trust, integrity, and teamwork in all interactions.


What You Bring to the Team

  • A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing data center or mission-critical projects (preferred).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A proactive mindset with the tenacity to solve challenges and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with construction-specific software like Procore, ViewPoint, or Microsoft Project.
