What you'll be doing

Another Source's client, Sabey Data Centers is recruiting a Data Center Operations Technician to join their team in Austin, TX.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-critical operations team that keeps one of the nation's leading privately owned data center platforms running at peak performance. This position is open due to an internal promotion, creating an opportunity for someone who is eager to build technical expertise, gain hands-on experience with advanced infrastructure systems, and grow their career within an organization known for developing talent from within.

The training schedule for the first 90 days is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. After training, the regular schedule shifts to nights, working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 2-2-3 rotation, with every other weekend off. Please confirm that both the location and schedule work for you.

About this role

As a Data Center Operations Technician, you will play a hands-on role in maintaining the critical infrastructure that powers customer operations around the clock. You'll support the daily operation of a highly sophisticated data center environment that includes redundant electrical, mechanical, environmental, and security systems designed for maximum uptime and reliability.

This role is ideal for someone with maintenance, facilities, or technical operations experience who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving problems in real time, and working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail matters. You'll work alongside experienced technicians and engineers while gaining exposure to the systems that support mission-critical operations.

Your Contribution Will Likely Include

  • Performing routine preventive maintenance on data center equipment and facility systems
  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment issues and assisting with repairs
  • Supporting equipment upgrades and maintenance activities while minimizing operational disruption
  • Monitoring environmental conditions, power usage, and building systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Responding to alarms and alerts, investigating root causes, and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintaining accurate equipment inventories, asset records, and documentation
  • Coordinating with vendors and contractors for maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations
  • Supporting disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives
  • Assisting senior technicians and engineers with operational projects and maintenance activities
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and well-labeled data center environment
  • Utilizing AI-enabled tools and automation technologies to improve efficiency, streamline administrative tasks, and support operational workflows
  • Promoting a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence while embodying Sabey's core values

Experience You Will Bring

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • General maintenance, facilities, technical operations, or related experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform basic preventive maintenance activities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies, software platforms, and operational systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships across teams and with external partners
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn and utilize AI tools and technology
  • Ability to respond to on-call situations as needed
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely operate power tools
  • Ability to interface with technology and operate digital tools
  • Ability to work swing shifts and night shifts as required

Compensation

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $54,987 - $82,480.
