Provide leadership and guidance to employees and/or contractors engaged in skilled work involving the operation, maintenance, repair, alteration and additions to Data Center systems including but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical building systems, building furnishings and site improvements. Perform work associated with these activities. Responsible to lead in the planning and scheduling of maintenance of the Data Center.

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor, coordinate, lead and direct the Data Center Maintenance Technicians' team to perform preventative/predictive maintenance on, troubleshoot, repair, install and operate various types of HVAC-related equipment, emergency generators, and general building mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment, electronic components, and general building control systems in accordance with manufacturer operating manuals, industry standards and mechanical, electrical, plumbing and building codes. Ensure the root cause of facility problems are identified and repaired quickly. Perform this work as required.
  • Lead the maintenance and scheduling of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including: Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/ STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handing units and CRAC units. Schedule the Data Center Maintenance Technicians' team for coverage of maintenance, quality operations, and immediate response to problems and issues.
  • Operate, monitor, maintain and respond immediately to abnormal conditions in facilities systems
  • Manage and lead the work of, communicate effectively with, and/or assist others, including contractors, engaged in maintenance, construction and operation activities. Ensure work is completed in compliance with contract terms and conditions and in accordance with company safety, security, environmental and conduct rules.
  • Conduct daily inspections of all data center infrastructure equipment. Provide systems availability monitoring and reporting. Maintain records, including inspection documentation, and submit reports as required.
  • Ensure Computerized Maintenance Management System data accuracy.
  • Possess initiative with the ability to handle multiple projects at any given time.
  • Lead Data Center Maintenance Technicians' team in skill development. Coach and provide feedback for continued improvement.

  • Work Experience requirement listed below: Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Data Center Maintenance Technician Assoc. or at least seven (7) years equivalent experience in HVAC, or electrical.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state drivers' license. This job requires "recommended" test results from Construction and Skilled Trades test (CAST) or HireVue Building Tech and Other Technician-Related Roles Virtual Job Tryout. This assessment is completed online, is untimed, and typically takes about 45 minutes to complete.   • Education requirements are listed below: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Work Experience: Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a Data Center Maintenance Technician or at least nine (9) years equivalent experience in HVAC, or electrical.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state drivers' license. This job requires "recommended" test results from Construction and Skilled Trades test (CAST) or HireVue Building Tech and Other Technician-Related Roles Virtual Job Tryout. This assessment is completed online, is untimed, and typically takes about 45 minutes to complete. Other Requirements:

Physical demand level is Medium

  • Must be a licensed electrician, a licensed HVAC technician, have a CFC refrigerant certification or have relevant proven knowledge and have performed required duties. (Available licenses vary by State)
  • CRAC technical training / certification from the OEM equipment manufacture along with UPS system training / certification from the OEM manufactures preferred. Must be willing to pursue the certification.
  • Overtime required. Overnight travel may be required. As a member of an on-call rotation, provide emergency response as needed and provide Holiday coverage as required. Shift, evening, and weekend work is required.
  • Requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather.
  • Possess excellent verbal, written, organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Requires the ability to utilize a computer.
  • Constant standing; frequent walking; occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, squatting, kneeling.
  • This position requires lifting, moving and carrying equipment up to and in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Work at heights.

Compensation Grade:

SP20-007

Compensation Range:

$42.13 - $128,688.00
