About This Role
The Data Center Logistics Senior Manager oversees logistics operations supporting the data center business, including transportation management, invoicing administration, and process improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and compliant movement of critical data center equipment while leading a logistics team and coordinating closely with operations, integrators, freight providers, and finance teams.
Logistics & Transportation Management
Oversee all aspects of data center logistics operations across ocean, air, and road transportation, with a focus on over-dimensional shipments.
Negotiate pricing and manage relationships with freight forwarders and transportation providers.
Ensure transportation activities comply with company logistics policies and operational standards.
Oversee transportation issue resolution and escalation management.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with data center operations teams to align on production schedules, delivery requirements, and integrator timelines.
Coordinate communication between logistics team members and broader data center business teams.
Support customer and stakeholder meetings related to logistics planning and execution.
Team Leadership
Manage the data center logistics team and ensure appropriate operational coverage.
Promote cross-training, knowledge sharing, and continuous team development.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
Oversee logistics administration, transportation invoicing, and freight spend management.
Review invoices for accuracy and resolve billing discrepancies and freight claims.
Provide transportation cost reporting and project cost allocations to finance teams.
Identify opportunities for logistics cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements.
Continuous Improvement
Drive process improvements to enhance transportation performance, service levels, and cost efficiency.
Ensure third-party logistics providers adhere to company transportation policies and expectations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations
5+ years of experience managing ocean, air, and road freight operations
2+ years of experience in freight invoicing, transportation cost management, and logistics operations
1+ year of experience in managing over-dimensional shipments
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business
Experience managing third-party logistics providers and transportation contracts
Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional coordination experience.
Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems, transportation management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
