Our health care client is looking for a 2 Hands on Data center Engineer to work in a 24/7 Data center at bNorwalk, CT 06855. They will support all needs in that location. Skills needed:
The Data Center Operations Engineer will be team oriented individuals who will be responsible for installation and de-installation of network devices, monitor Z10 mainframe environment and peripherals. They will verify connectivity of all devices and also troubleshoot any reconnection issues. They will also be responsible for recording the assets that are assigned to a user.
CyrusOne Data Center is located in Norwalk, Connecticut. Data Center is 24/7 and 100% onsite.
Tech must be flexible because shifts (including weekends" will vary".
Once hired they will go through a 8 week training on all involved in their role from data center to security procedures. They will work on a team of 8 people in this location and will get shift once they get through the 8 week training, so need to be open to any shift. They will use eNlight as the data center monitioring tool. It is a Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) and IT monitoring platform designed to unify cloud orchestration, resource tracking, and real-time operational visibility. Will also work with the CoLocation Cyrus One staff if there are any power and HVAC issues. That is handled by that team. They will handle everything from Rack and stack, HW swaps ( cisco switches, HP servers, Dell Blades, etc. Will use ServiceNow for all tickets and handle all support through tickets. Below is a list of all that can be involved.
Installation of network devices and cable management systems
Provide technical support to our network owner/user community
Maintain and update an accurate documentation of Service Desk trouble tickets
Monitor System interfaces and other communication utilities and take proper action
Install/Rack Servers
Add Memory, H/D, Network Interface Cards, CPU etc.
Install KVM and In-Rack PDU
Monitor/Maintain all Servers in the Data Center
Familiarization with a large-scale IBM Z10 mainframe environment
IPL, TSO, MVS, Jes2, CA7
IBM 4000, IBM 6500 Canon VS 4400
Service Now Ticketing System
Asset Management
Back up Daily/Monthly tapes for offsite storage
Inventory
Perform all other related duties

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
