Summary:
As a Data Center Capacity Engineer in the Edge Network Services team, you will drive the end-to-end rack lifecycle across global data centers, supporting infrastructure that powers Meta's apps at industry-leading scale.

This role directly enables capacity delivery at a critical moment as AI-driven workloads and next-generation hardware reshape data center operations. You will own rack provisioning workflows, resolve complex blockers, and implement AI-integrated automation to replace manual processes with intelligent, scalable solutions.
Who You'll Collaborate With
You will partner with production operations, space and power, field operations, hardware placement, and provisioning engineering teams as the primary capacity point of contact for your region. The regional pod structure fosters cross-site collaboration and mentorship from experienced teammates within a collaborative, team-based environment.
Contributing to Hyperscaler Capacity
You will engage with emerging hardware technologies and AI-driven automation at the cutting edge of capacity engineering. Opportunities exist to shape fleetwide standards, lead functional domain pods, and grow through technical leadership across multiple data centers.
Summary:
The main function of a data center tech is to determine requirements and specifications for landing capacity in data centers.
Job Responsibilities:
• Manage main workflows for rack turnup, moves, decomms, to meet volume or capacity demands.
• Communicate with cross-functional partners to determine capacity needs.
• Oversee fallout from provisioning, network cabling, splicing, maintenance, manufacturing defects.
• Design, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems.
• Determine space and power requirements for specific rack types; coordinate remediation, as needed.
• Develop and implement solutions for infrastructure problems.
• Develop conceptual, logical or physical infrastructure designs.
• Proficiency in English verbal and written communication
* Strong problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data center racks (network, servers, storage).
• Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, communications software, operating system software.
* Experience with critical infrastructure, power, cooling, space.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field required, or equivalent work experience.
