Data Center Engineer Job Description:
We are looking for a data center engineer to work in a submarine environment. Looking for someone to give fresh ideas on how to fix our current power distribution that is nearing the limits. Currently cooling is our ceiling, not just power. Looking for someone with experience in General Purpose (GP) GPUs. Looking for an engineer who can give options to help with limited space and power and cooling options.
Data Center Engineer Required Skills:
·Experience with High Density power architecture
oPower conversion strategies and trends including DC power
oBusway systems vs cabling
oRack level power budgeting
·Experience with designing or knowing details for rack-level power >10—30kW
·Experience with Power Distribution Units (PDUs), failover and redundancy, holdup, and UPS integration
·Experience with thermal management at scale
oAirflow engineering (hot isle / cold isle containment)
oLiquid cooling (direct to chip, heat exchangers)
oHead density management (KW/rack vs per volume)
oCFD based thermal modeling
·Looking for experience in designing > 15kW / rack cooling
·Exposure to liquid cooling systems
·Ability to quantify delta T, airflow, heat rejection paths
·Experience with Reliability engineering and Fault Tolerances
oExperience with redundant architecture
oFailure mode analysis
oMonitoring and alerting systems.
·Experience with Modular & Scalable Compute Infrastructure
oBlade servers
oGPU clusters
oRack as unit of deployment
·Rapid upgrade cycles
·Looking for experience with GPU clusters
·Understanding PCIe, NVLink, high-speed interconnects
Data Center Engineer Additional Requirements:
Systems Engineer/Architect Additional Requirements:
·A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or other related technical discipline, and 5 years of directly related experience; or a Master’s degree and 3 years of related experience.
·Must be able to obtain and keep a DoD Secret Clearance which means you must be a U.S. Citizen.
·Skills in analysis, critical thinking, and technical problem solving.
·Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication skills.
·Ability to multitask, shift priorities, and be willing to adapt or improve.
·Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
