Joining our operations team means being at the center of everything – maintaining and evolving critical infrastructure that powers the digital world and delivers real impact for our customers, communities and society. You’ll find belonging, purpose, and a team that welcomes you—because when you feel valued, you’re empowered to do your best work.
At Equinix, our Critical Facilities Engineers operate, manage, maintain, and repair critical and non-critical power systems, HVAC, BMS, plumbing, fire control & suppression, and all site services. Our Critical Facilities team also perform all related vendor support activities within a mission-critical environment.
Our engineers work across multiple engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical and controls). Applicants should have a solid grounding in Controls, Automation, BMS, SCADA and/or PLC systems and be capable of supporting site Controls activities while working as a Critical Facilities Engineer as part of the broader team.
Experience with BMS programming, configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting will be highly advantageous. Candidates with recent service, maintenance or commissioning experience within building automation, industrial automation, manufacturing, FMCG, utilities, oil & gas, HVAC controls or related industries are encouraged to apply.
Whilst data centre experience is always valued, it is not essential. We are particularly interested in Controls professionals who are looking to apply their technical expertise within a highly resilient, mission-critical environment and broaden their skills across critical infrastructure operations. Our Melbourne Cluster consists of four facilities, so flexibility to occasionally work across sites and support wider engineering teams will be highly regarded. The position is primarily based at ME4 in Derrimut.
