Projects range from 6 weeks to 12 months per site, with teams up to 6 technicians plus a working lead on location.

What We Offer

  • $25.00 to $35.00 per hour with a guaranteed 40-hour work week, even when projects finish ahead of schedule
  • Hotel accommodations and per diem for meals while on project sites away from home
  • Overtime opportunities beyond the guaranteed 40 hours based on project needs but average weeks of 55+ hours are not uncommon
  • Consistent shift schedules during each project assignment with no same-day shift turnarounds
  • Strategic home-base location planning so technicians can return home during scheduled days off

Key Responsibilities - Data Cable Technician

  • Run and install conduit including 3/4-inch aluminum, Robroy PVC-coated, and stainless steel conduit in warehouses, cold storage, and plant facilities
  • Upgrade and install network switches, wireless access points, internet connections, CCTV cameras, Fire Alarm Systems and access control systems at client sites
  • Read and interpret blueprints, site maps, and project documentation to plan cable routes, MDF/IDF closet buildouts, and closeout packages
  • Conduct cable testing and system verification to confirm all installations are operational and meet OSHA, local, and client safety requirements

Qualifications - Data Cable Technician

  • 2+ years of experience as a Data Cable Technician or Structured Cabling Installer in industrial or heavy commercial settings
  • Hands-on experience with CAT6 cabling installation, termination, and testing including knowledge of multiple termination types for multi-mode and single-mode fiber
  • Current certification or demonstrated ability to safely operate boom lifts and scissor lifts at heights of 40 feet or more
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no DUI/DWI within the past 3 years
  • Must own basic telecommunication hand tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) and be proficient with smartphones and email for daily project reporting

Preferred Qualifications - Structured Cabling Installer

  • BICSI Installer certification (INST1 or INST2) or Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
  • Experience running conduit (EMT, rigid, stainless steel, and aluminum) in industrial environments
  • Familiarity with NEC code requirements as they apply to low voltage installations
  • Background installing CCTV, security systems, alarm systems, or access control hardware
  • TIA/EIA standards knowledge and experience with cable closeout documentation

Physical Requirements - Data Cable Technician

  • Lift and carry equipment, cable spools, and tools weighing 50 pounds or more regularly
  • Work at heights of 40 feet or more using boom lifts, scissor lifts, and ladders
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in cramped spaces for extended periods during shifts
  • Tolerate industrial work environments including cold storage warehouses, hot warehouses, and food production plants that may have strong odors
  • Travel extensively across Midwest states (KS, MO, AR, OK, IA, OH, NE, MN, IN and surrounding areas) with typical schedules of Friday through Monday and midweek days off
