Data Architect - Vice President
Location: Hybrid (2 days per/week) Newark, NJ
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
US Citizen or Green card holders only please

We're working with a leading global financial institution that is looking to hire a Data Architect at the VP level to join their team. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity with a company known for innovation, stability, and a strong data-driven culture.

This is a strategic role for a hands-on data architect who enjoys building scalable data environments, modernizing legacy platforms, and driving enterprise data governance. You'll play a key role in shaping the firms evolving data landscape.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Collaborating on enterprise-wide data strategy initiatives and helping modernize the current data architecture

- Designing and maintaining data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) to meet business and technical needs

- Supporting data governance: cataloging, quality frameworks, and lineage documentation

- Monitoring and optimizing database and data processing performance

- Establishing and documenting best practices and standards for data architecture across teams

What We're Looking For:

- Proven experience designing relational databases and applying data modeling techniques

- Advanced SQL Server development skills (views, stored procedures, DDL, etc.)

- Experience implementing or supporting data governance platforms (catalogs, lineage tools, etc.)

- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams

- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a passion for data and continuous improvement

Keys to win the job:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview or similar governance tools

  • Experience working with data lakes, data warehouses, or data marts

  • Comfort working in Linux environments

  • Financial services or capital markets experience (especially Fixed Income)

  • Knowledge of tools like Jira, Confluence, and Agile/SAFe practices
