Data Architect & Engineering
Lead

The role

As a Data Architect & Engineering Lead, you will coordinate end-to-end data
engineering projects from architecture design to productive delivery. Your main
responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and implement cloud-native data architectures in all layers, applying best practices (CI/CD, testing, data quality, observability), working with DevOps on automation/IaC
  • Lead hands-on development of data pipelines and distributed workflows
  • Architect and optimise Lakehouse/Data Warehouse solutions on Azure and Databricks, translating business and analytical requirements into scalable high-performance data models
  • Own technical delivery: design, estimation, governance, performance tuning, and support pre-sales and client discussions, whilst providing technical leadership and mentorship, reviewing codes and driving engineering excellence.

Your profile
  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field
  • At least 6 years of experience in cloud data engineering, with Azure and/or Databricks
  • Proven experience building large-scale data platforms and leading technical teams
  • Proficiency with Python/PySpark, SQL (T-SQL/KQL), Azure (Data Factory, ADLS, Fabric) and Databricks
  • Solid understanding of data architecture (Lambda, Medallion/Lakehouse, streaming), infrastructure design, DevOps and data governance/compliance, including Microsoft Purview
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Portuguese.
