We're REA
With bold and ambitious goals, REA Group is changing the way the world experiences property. No matter where you're at on your property journey, we're here to help with every step - whether that's finding or financing your next home.

Our people are the key to our success. At the heart of everything we do, is a thriving culture centred around high performance and care. We are purpose driven and collaborative, which drives innovation and our ability to make a real impact. As such, we’re proud to have been named one of Australia’s Best Workplaces four times since 2021 — including third place in 2025 — plus Best Workplace for Women in 2023 and Best Workplace in Technology in 2024 and 2025. These listings are testament to every person who helps make REA a great place to work.

Where the team fits in

The role sits within the Finance Operations team, supporting Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payment Solutions in the accurate processing, recording, collection and management of transactions for the Australian business. The Finance and Business Services team, or FaBS as we like to call them, is the engine room of REA Group. This cross-functional group of individuals who are the best in their fields, provide strategic commercial input and guidance around decisions across all levels of the business, while continually improving the 'behind the scenes' of REA to support our people, drive efficiencies and maximise customer satisfaction.

This role owns Finance Operations business requirements relating to systems, reporting and operational data, and will work in close partnership with the Finance Apps team, which owns core finance platforms, technical standards and delivery governance.

What the role is all about

  • Partner with leaders and teams to translate business needs into clear system, data, reporting and workflow requirements across core platforms.
  • Lead our reporting and data requirements, including metric definitions, business rules, data quality expectations and a prioritised pipeline of enhancement requests
  • Act as the primary liaison for our team on matters relating to our systems, reporting, workflow and operational data
  • Improve data readiness by strengthening data definitions, traceability, controls, documentation and source-to-report consistency so reporting, automation and AI-enabled use cases can be trusted and scaled safely.
  • Analyse processes and data to identify practical opportunities for automation, improved reporting and AI-enabled use cases
  • Work within existing platform governance to raise, shape and support delivery of enhancements that improve efficiency, control, data quality and user experience
  • Support data quality, controls and documentation practices that enable reliable reporting, automation and AI use cases
  • Support adoption of delivered changes through documentation, testing coordination, training, feedback loops and change enablement.
  • Surface operational insights and data to inform on process efficiency, service performance, reporting requirements and data quality
  • Help ensure our requirements are well-defined, testable and measurable, and that delivered changes solve the right business problem

Who we’re looking for

  • You will likely have 3-5 years’ experience in finance operations, finance transformation, business systems analysis, or a similar role in a complex operational environment
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes, particularly in high-volume transactional environments such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payment Solutions
  • Demonstrated experience translating business problems into clear process, data, reporting or system requirements
  • Hands-on experience working with enterprise platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Tableau or similar, with a focus on workflow, reporting and data quality improvement.
  • Strong analytical capability, including the ability to interrogate data, define meaningful metrics and identify root causes and improvement opportunities
  • Experience partnering with technology or platform teams within established governance models, providing strong business input into requirements and solution design
  • A practical understanding of automation and AI use cases, with the ability to identify opportunities and improve data and process readiness rather than over-engineering solutions
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence across teams without direct authority
  • Previous experience with Zendesk is required.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with strong judgement, curiosity and a bias toward simplifying manual work while strengthening control and accuracy
  • Experience with visualisation tools (e.g. miro) to help document processes
  • Previous experience working with AI enterprise platforms
