Application Deadline: 31 August 2026

Department: Broadcasting

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

The Data and Insights Analyst is an important supporting role within the Premier League’s Broadcast Research and Analytics team, with a primary focus on Premier League Studios (PLS) - the league’s international media production and distribution arm. The right candidate will have a background in data/data analytics, a good work ethic, a strong sense of responsibility, a willing attitude and a key eye for detail.

In this role, you will support the capture, measurement and analysis of data to deliver meaningful insights on how international broadcasters engage with the services and output provided by PLS. You will help ensure that consistent reporting standards, frameworks, and best practices are adhered to, and that stakeholders have access to relevant and reliable data.

You will support the Senior Manager, Analytics in delivering ongoing reviews of content performance. This will include identifying and leveraging external data points and insights that help establish market trends applicable to our business.

As a member of the Broadcast Research and Analytics Team, you will also be involved in the wider provision of data and insights across the league’s digital and broadcast activities.

The role

PLS Data and Analytics Deliverables
  • Maintain and develop Power BI dashboards, ensuring that key metrics are accessible to all stakeholders and data is easy to interpret
  • Use SQL and Excel to extract and manipulate data to produce both BAU and ad hoc reports
  • Support deep-dive analyses into the performance of centrally-produced content, including identifying trends and key insights and helping to translate these into story-led outputs that clearly articulate the salient points and opportunities for the business
  • Research and analyse external data sources, including industry reports, relevant audience insights and content consumption trends that will meaningfully inform content and service planning and decision making
  • Proactively identify new and additional data sources and metrics that will enhance our ongoing analysis and validate insights-led recommendations
  • Support the Senior Manager, Analytics in ongoing content performance reviews and ROI analysis
  • Design and develop surveys to collect broadcaster qualitative insights and translate survey data into meaningful outputs
Broadcast Research and Analytics Deliverables
  • Support the wider Broadcast Research and Analytics Team in its key responsibilities, including the collation and analysis of global viewership data across all platforms (broadcast and digital)

Requirements for the role

  • Experience in an analyst, research, or insights role - ideally within media, sport, or a content-focused business
  • Strong analytical ability with experience managing complex data sets
  • Proficient in SQL and Excel, with demonstrable hands-on experience
  • Experience with Power BI or similar visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Google Analytics), including building and maintaining dashboards
  • Qualitative research skills – knowing how to frame a question, find the right sources and turn findings into a clear narrative – are desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and compelling way to a range of audiences
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage timelines and priorities and operate with minimal guidance
  • A commitment to building effective relationships with internal teams and working collaboratively and effectively in a fast-paced environment
