Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Marketing and Lead Generation at the Desautels Faculty of Management, the Data and Insights Analyst works with key partners and systems to define, track and optimize for marketing and recruitment efforts. With a strong foundation in performance marketing, consumer/product metrics, and statistics/data management, the position evaluates project opportunities and communicates findings effectively in a cross-functional setting. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between the marketing, recruitment management, IT and special projects primarily for the master’s suite of programs. They will work to gain consensus, as well as seek and inform innovations to develop business understanding and insight across the Faculty. Core outputs are dashboards within Salesforce CRM, Power BI as well as advertising channels and digital marketing platforms, blending offline/online sources with the aim of producing analysis briefings for maximizing impact and return on investment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Liaise with partners to determine needs assessment and priorities.
- Establish tracking and reporting standards for marketing campaigns to effectively measure performance that will guide future optimizations and decision making.
- Regularly audit and monitor marketing and CRM operations for data quality issues and improvements
- Perform user analysis to identify high value cohorts/segments
- Develop dashboards and reports for marketing, recruitment, and management to easily understand performance of ongoing campaigns and recruitment processes
- Manage the reporting of information quality key performance indicators
- Communicate complex material in an easy to digest manner
- Monitor data quality, connectors, and flows to identify opportunities, ensuring correct structures for all data needed to make marketing and recruitment decisions
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify data collection and reporting needs within Salesforce and Account Engagement
- Provide data-driven actionable insights to our internal teams to improve campaign performance and/or suggest new campaign opportunities
- Identify the effect of different media channels and provide budget allocation recommendations, backed by calculations of significance and other standard statistical models
- Produce and execute data roadmap for marketing and recruitment operations, with emphasis on standard marketing calculations and ROI
- Develop guidelines and processes for data collection and reporting in consultation with internal teams to ensure data compliance
- Use and build data models for both analysis and projection capabilities
- Propose technical enhancements for optimizing Salesforce functionality and facilitate user adoption
- Support the Project Manager, Rankings in collecting and reporting data for the Faculty’s participation in Masters rankings, while ensuring best practices for gathering and analyzing key program statistics such as employment, internships, student profiles, diversity, and program metrics.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- 3-5 years of experience in Marketing Analysis/Performance or related field with emphasis on data management and analysis
- Experience using social and search a ecosystems (Meta, LinkedIn, Google, Adobe, etc.)
- Statistics and other data management experience, working with structured and unstructured datasets
- Proven experience designing and generating statistical reports/dashboards and analyzing results
- Experience with Salesforce, Account Engagement, Analytics Studio, and marketing operations within a CRM environment
- Significant experience with Google Data Studio, Google Analytics, Power BI, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
- Excellent research abilities, troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Capable of critical reflection and detail oriented
- Deep sector knowledge, including familiarity with world university rankings
- Excellent consultative and collaborative skills, and tact and diplomacy with stakeholders at all levels
