University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Temporary, Staff, Non-Exempt, Full Time, Benefited position through 6/30/2026 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).

Salary: $5860.00-$6,158.55 per month.

Location: CSUSB Campus.

Work Schedule

40 hours per week. Typically, Monday-Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Some nights and weekend work required.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the Cal-SOAP Director, the Data and Evaluation Specialist will work independently to:

  • Collect, sort and analyze project data;
  • Collect, sort and analyze cost share;
  • Assist with the development of evaluation metrics;
  • Interpret data trends and provide strategic recommendations to inform program decision-making;
  • Develop data projections and performance forecasts to support grant compliance and program goal attainment;
  • Ensure data collection and reporting practices align with state and federal grant compliance standards;
  • Develop system for and track outputs and outcomes for coaches/sites;
  • Ensure data integrity;
  • Assist the Director with required reports;
  • Develop and track formative and summative assessment metrics;
  • Assist with the onboarding and ongoing professional development, as it relates to data and evaluation, for all project staff and stakeholders, and/or as requested;
  • Work with team and funding agency to assess data needs and create and support execution of plans to address those needs;
  • Visualize data and results electronically;
  • Maintain internally- and externally-facing scorecards that track SSC progress in achieving their goals;
  • Attend staff meetings;
  • Attend external meetings, as needed;
  • Make presentations on data and results both internally and externally.
  • Help maintain and monitor data security protocols.
  • Support project with other requests for secondary data access and data visualizations.
  • Some regional travel may be required.
  • Other job related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience:
    • 2 years experience in a closely related field.
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Canva, Adobe Suite, and/or Google Data Studio.
    • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis, including how to clean and analyze data in Microsoft Excel, Stata, Alteryx, and other tools.
  • Other:
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong teamwork orientation, ability to follow the direction of the program and the director’s leadership.
    • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
    • Must possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, along with the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of people, exercise sound judgement, determine priorities, complete assigned projects in a timely manner and work well under tight deadlines.
    • Must possess the following critical strengths including but not limited to: reliability, communication, attention to detail, and strong self-initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with educational data systems, Lacai, Webgrants, and standards in the secondary and/or postsecondary sectors.
