Job Description
GoEngineer provides design platforms, engineering software, and 3D printing technology that help make the design process innovative, efficient, and intelligent.
We are hiring a Data and Analytics Manager to lead our four-person Data and Insights team. In this player-coach role, you will lead the execution of our data strategy: prioritize the team's work, develop its people, and contribute directly to technical work across data architecture, analytics, and reporting. You will report to the VP of Finance.
This role offers the opportunity to shape how the team works. You will help build scalable data structures, establish checks and balances that improve data reliability, and create processes that support analytics, automation, and AI.
What You'll Do
- Coach, support, and distribute work across a team of four data professionals.
- Prioritize incoming work, manage competing requests, and work with the hiring manager to escalate and resolve conflicts.
- Balance team leadership with hands-on technical contribution; the role is expected to be primarily coaching and coordination.
- Build and maintain a centralized data platform that brings together NetSuite, Azure SQL, Power BI, and other enterprise systems, including data from newly acquired businesses.
- Lead data warehousing, ETL/ELT, semantic modeling, and governance practices that deliver scalable, reliable data assets.
- Establish practices for data quality, lineage, consistency, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Guide the development of Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and executive reporting.
- Partner with executives and functional leaders to translate strategic goals into measurable plans, KPIs, and insight frameworks.
- Champion data accessibility and literacy across the organization.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and help the team use AI thoughtfully to accelerate insight delivery.
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence, including at least two years leading or managing a team.
- Experience prioritizing work and helping a technical team navigate competing requests.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server or Azure SQL, data warehousing concepts, and modern data architecture.
- Strong business intelligence and data modeling skills. Power BI experience is preferred; Tableau or comparable business intelligence experience is transferable.
- Ability to lead technical and analytical people while balancing coaching, execution, and strategic direction.
- Ability to advise senior leaders and translate complex data concepts into clear recommendations.
- Experience improving data quality and building data accessibility across systems.
- An interest in using AI thoughtfully to improve data and analytics work.
Nice to Have
- Experience with NetSuite data structures and integration patterns, including Celigo-based ETL.
- Experience with cloud-native data platforms or Lakehouse architectures.
- Experience preparing data environments for AI, such as semantic layers, centralized knowledge hubs, or documented data dictionaries.
- Experience integrating data from acquired businesses into a common reporting platform.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive adoption of data-informed decision-making.
Location and Compensation
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Salt Lake City, Utah, with approximately three days per week in the office. The salary range is $130,000 to $145,000.
