The GBS Data Analytics Senior Developer will play an integral role in driving performance analysis, analytics, dashboards and other BI activities throughout GBS Shared Services globally.

The individual will be a key member of a team responsible for supporting the needs of various teams globally and across different workstreams including OTC, RTR, PTP, Customer Care and others. The objective would be to prepare Thermo Fisher to successfully & efficiently scale up the company’s 2030 vision of becoming a $50B revenue organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead data analysis initiatives including data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and visualization.

  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver end-to-end BI solutions.

  • Identify key data elements and sources, consolidating large datasets from multiple systems (e.g. SAP, JDE, Salesforce)

  • Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets to enable business insights.

  • Ensure reliability of Power BI solutions through data validation, issue resolution, and implementation of row-level security.

  • Define and maintain standards for Power BI architecture and best practices.

  • Support and enhance data pipelines and data preparation processes (SQL, ETL, Python/Databricks as needed).

  • Identify and evaluate new technologies and enhancements to improve reporting capabilities.

  • Develop ad-hoc analyses and reporting to support business needs.

  • Identify and develop AI and predictive analytics use cases by leveraging large, complex datasets, partnering with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable, insight-driven solutions.

Background & Experience

  • 5–7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, or related fields

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience in finance, technology, shared services, or consulting environments preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong expertise in Power BI, including data modeling and DAX

  • Solid experience with SQL and understanding of ETL processes

  • Working experience with Python and Databricks (Apache Spark)

  • Experience handling large and complex datasets

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills in English

  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders

  • Collaborative mindset with experience working in global teams

  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

  • Continuous improvement mindset, including experience with PPI or similar methodologies
