About Nestlé Business Solutions

Nestlé Business Solutions (NBS) is a global powerhouse of expertise, innovation and operational excellence. Our teams support markets and businesses around the world across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Digital, eBusiness, CRM, Consumer Engagement and Data & Analytics.

In Lisbon, our multicultural teams partner with global, regional and local stakeholders to accelerate digital transformation, build capabilities and deliver business impact at scale. We combine data, technology and talent to help shape the future of Nestlé.

We are looking for curious, collaborative and solution-oriented professionals who thrive in international environments and are passionate about using data to solve real business challenges.

Position Summary

As a Data & Analytics Expert, you will act as an above-market point of contact connecting business needs with data, analytics and reporting solutions. Working closely with Consumer & Market Insights (CMI), Category and eBusiness teams, you will help transform consumer, shopper, market, category and performance data into practical insights and recommendations. You will also coordinate the people, data and technology needed to deliver effective analytics initiatives across markets.

During the first six months, the role will place particular emphasis on ad-hoc analytical support and project management for data initiatives. Power BI expertise remains important: you must be able to build and maintain reporting solutions, although dashboard development will not be the primary focus at the start.

Your Main Priorities

  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support to senior stakeholders and answer custom business questions using multiple data sources.
  • Prepare and update senior-ready data slides, writing concise conclusions and connecting trends to the broader category and business context.
  • Coordinate data and analytics projects across markets, category teams, IT, internal data teams and external partners.
  • Improve data quality, consistency, documentation and transparency across reporting solutions.
  • Maintain and progressively expand a portfolio of Power BI reports and related data models.
  • Support adoption of analytics solutions, global KPIs and common data standards across markets.

A Day in the Life of a Data & Analytics Expert

Turn Data into Business Answers

  • Clarify stakeholder questions and translate them into structured analytical approaches.
  • Explore available datasets to identify trends, anomalies, opportunities and performance drivers.
  • Bring together market, category, consumer, shopper and eCommerce data to answer strategic business questions.
  • Partner with CMI teams to identify opportunities, risks and performance drivers across markets and categories.
  • Prepare concise conclusions, recommendations and next steps for senior stakeholders.
  • Help teams define relevant KPIs, analytical use cases and measurement approaches.

Lead Data and Analytics Projects

  • Translate business needs into clear project requirements and deliverables.
  • Coordinate stakeholders, milestones, dependencies, decisions and risks.
  • Support business-case preparation, rollout planning and implementation.
  • Contribute to data insourcing initiatives designed to improve control, analytical capability and efficiency.

Strengthen Data Quality and Governance

  • Validate datasets, spot anomalies and investigate root causes.
  • Coordinate issue resolution with markets, internal teams and external data providers.
  • Support data preparation, cleansing, mapping, classification and the application of global taxonomies.
  • Manage Row-Level Security access and document data sources, assumptions and business rules.

Develop and Improve Reporting Solutions

  • Maintain and improve existing Power BI dashboards, data models and reporting cycles.
  • Develop new reports and analytical views according to agreed business priorities.
  • Use Power Query, DAX and data modelling techniques to create accurate, intuitive reporting.
  • Run and adapt SQL queries in Snowflake when required.
  • Support report publishing, workspace management, refreshes and access control.

Build Adoption and Analytics Capabilities

  • Help stakeholders use dashboards and insights in decision-making.
  • Facilitate working sessions, demonstrations and knowledge sharing.
  • Document analytical use cases, outcomes, best practices and lessons learned.
  • Support the scale-up of successful approaches across markets.

What Will Make You Successful

Experience and Business Capabilities

  • Relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, consumer insights, digital marketing, eBusiness or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with Consumer & Market Insights (CMI), Market Research, Category Management or related functions is highly valued.
  • Understanding of consumer, shopper and market measurement approaches, with the ability to translate research and data into recommendations.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex datasets and translate findings into clear business conclusions.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience coordinating several stakeholders, priorities and dependencies.
  • Ability to convert business needs into analytical and technical requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to simplify analytical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • High ownership, attention to detail and follow-through in a matrix organisation.

Technical Capabilities

  • Advanced Excel: pivot tables, XLOOKUP and manipulation of large datasets.
  • SQL, beginner to intermediate: ability to run and adapt queries, ideally in Snowflake or a comparable environment.
  • Data quality mindset: ability to detect anomalies, investigate root causes and coordinate resolution.
  • Power BI, intermediate to advanced: data modelling, Power Query, DAX, Row-Level Security, publishing and workspace management.
  • Experience with Tableau, Looker Studio, Datorama or comparable tools is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with APIs, HTML parsing, data automation, advanced analytics or AI-enabled reporting is an advantage.
  • Experience with market share, household panel, category performance, competitive intelligence or eCommerce sell-out data is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with sources and methodologies such as Euromonitor, household panels and market or category performance tracking is an advantage.

The Mindset We Value

  • Curious and confident when working with unfamiliar data sources.
  • Structured and systematic, while comfortable with complexity and ambiguity.
  • Able to balance analytical depth with pragmatic delivery.
  • Collaborative and service-oriented, with the confidence to challenge constructively.
  • Focused on business impact rather than reporting for reporting’s sake.

Why Join Nestlé Business Solutions?

  • Partner with stakeholders across markets, Zones, SBUs and global functions.
  • Influence business decisions through data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Contribute to strategic analytics initiatives with international visibility.
  • Work closely with CMI teams and diverse datasets spanning consumer, shopper, market, category, eCommerce and performance analytics.
  • Strengthen your expertise in data storytelling, stakeholder management, project delivery and business intelligence.
  • Be part of a multicultural team committed to continuous improvement and innovation.

About Nestlé

As the world’s largest food and beverage company we are driven by a simple aim: unlocking the power of food to enhance quality of life for everyone, today and for generations to come. To deliver on this, we serve with passion, with a spirit of excellence, offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families. Our culture is based on our values rooted in respect: respect for ourselves, respect for others, respect for diversity and respect for the future.

We can trace our origin back to 1866, when the first European condensed milk factory was opened in Cham, Switzerland, by the Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company. One year later, Henri Nestlé, a trained pharmacist, launched one of the world’s first prepared infant cereals ‘Farine lactée’ in Vevey, Switzerland.

Today, we employ around 273,000 people and have factories or operations in almost every country in the world. With our headquarters still based in the Swiss town of Vevey, we had sales of CHF 84.3 billion in 2020.

Our portfolio covers almost every food and beverage category – offering products and services for all stages of life, every moment of the day, helping people care for themselves and their families.
