Job Description

Raiffeisen Group IT GmbH is a subsidiary of Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) with the aim of providing a broad range of IT services to Group RBI and the specialized institutions Raiffeisen Bausparkasse, Raiffeisen Capital Management, Raiffeisen Leasing, Raiffeisen Service Center and Valida Vorsorge Management. We offer an international and diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

In this role you are the analytical link between our business departments (Regulatory Reporting, Risk, Finance) and our data engineering team.

You turn business requirements into precise, testable specifications and make sure our regulatory data is correct, complete and on time.

Your mission:

  • Elicit, analyse and document data requirements with business departments so they are ready for direct implementation in Databricks.
  • Analyse and profile source data (MS SQL Server, Delta Lake/Databricks) to find data gaps, inconsistencies and root causes of quality issues.
  • Create functional specifications: source-to-target mappings, business rules, data dictionaries and end-to-end data lineage.
  • Define and maintain data contracts together with data owners and data engineering.
  • Specify business data quality indicators (DQIs) and technical DQ checks for accuracy, completeness and timeliness; monitor and analyse the results.
  • Test and validate data deliveries: write test cases, reconcile new pipelines against legacy outputs and run user acceptance tests with business departments.
  • Support the migration of complex group reporting datasets from legacy processes to automated daily delivery via Databricks.
  • Contribute to implementing BCBS 239 and the ECB RDARR Guide, including documentation for internal audit and supervisory reviews.
  • Work closely with the Data Product Owner and data engineers in an agile team.

Your core competencies:

  • Several years of experience in regulatory reporting, risk data or finance data in a bank (e.g., FINREP/COREP, group or head-office reporting).
  • Very strong SQL skills for data analysis, profiling and reconciliation of large datasets.
  • Proven experience in eliciting and documenting requirements, writing functional specifications and source-to-target mappings.
  • Sound understanding of data quality management (e.g., DQ rules, KPIs for accuracy, completeness and timeliness) and data lineage.
  • Experience in testing and validating data deliveries, including test case design and user acceptance testing.
  • Working knowledge of BCBS 239 principles and data governance concepts such as data ownership and data contracts.
  • Confident communication with business and IT: you can challenge requirements and explain technical constraints in business terms.
  • Experience working in agile teams (e.g., Scrum, Jira).
  • Very good German and English skills.

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience with Databricks (SQL warehouses, notebooks, Unity Catalog as data catalog and governance layer).
  • Basic Python or PySpark skills for analysis and prototyping.
  • Knowledge of data modelling concepts (e.g., dimensional modelling, Data Vault).
  • Experience with data visualisation or DQ dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Databricks dashboards).
  • Practical use of AI tools (e.g., LLM assistants, GitHub Copilot) to speed up analysis, documentation and test case design.

What's in it for you:

  • Work Life Balance: flexible working hours, hybrid working options / work from home (60% max.), 30 days / year remote work
  • Easy Moving: work permit support
  • Top-notch Equipment: modern tools & technologies
  • International Spirit: multi-cultural teams, English as company language, team building events
  • Learning & Agile Working: as part of our DNA & culture
  • Canteen: healthy, tasty, and heavily subsidized
  • Saving: with vouchers / discounts from our staffs' council (eg. supermarket)
  • Further Goodies: free public transport pass, salary account & credit card, gender-neutral parental leave, bilingual company kindergarten etc.
  • Salary: In accordance with Austrian legal requirements, the minimum salary for this position is EUR 4.061,00 gross per month under the applicable IT Collective Agreement. The actual salary is typically higher and will be determined individually based on your qualifications, professional experience, and the specific requirements of the role.
