We are looking for a skilled Data and Analytics Engineer who is passionate about building robust, scalable data infrastructure and data modelling solutions that unlock meaningful analytics and insights across our trading organization.

The role is a full time position based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

About our team

Meet the Trading Quants team. We add value by being change enablers that drive transformation of the investment process as part of an agile value stream where we identify business problems, define and implement solutions, to generate tangible value for our clients.

Our team is part of Nordea Asset Management, Global Trading. Within the investment management area, Global Trading, is responsible for order generation and trade execution on behalf of portfolio managers across asset classes. As a team, we homogenize data across asset classes, add structure and measurability to our investment processes, to unlock scale and quality throughout the organization.

What you’ll be doing

Main responsibilities in this role:

• Extend our data platform, adding new data sources and transformations in response to new business requirements.
• Build internal tools to support our trading desks.
• Assist with implementing AI use cases leveraging our data models.
• Drive projects within a value stream, binding together business and technology, to ensure we deliver tangible outcomes for our clients.
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders, and our technology providers.

Who you are

This is the right role for you if you are someone who takes ownership of your work and is driven to make a meaningful impact, while being comfortable sharing your opinions and challenging established ways of thinking. You bring a software engineering mindset to your data work, embracing practices such as everything-as-code and automated testing. You thrive on learning quickly, are interested in exploring alternative ways of working, and possess strong stakeholder management skills that enable you to build relationships and influence outcomes across the organization.

Your background and skills include:

• Experience working in a data analytics or data engineering capacity ideally using Python.
• Experience with SQL.
• An interest in asset management and financial markets.
• Fluent in English both verbal and written.

It would be ideal if you also:

• Are familiar with Snowflake and dbt.
• Have practical knowledge of using Apache Airflow e.g. building DAGs.
• Have experience with AWS or other public cloud solution.
• Have hands-on experience implementing AI use cases, or a demonstrable enthusiasm for leveraging AI to drive innovation and efficiency.
