Career Field

Data & Analytics

Job Number

189217

Key Responsibilities

Cost Data Management & Tracking

· Extract, consolidate, and maintain product and component cost data from SAP (internal production plants) and Excel-based datasets (CM/virtual plant production) on a regular cadence (weekly/monthly as required).

· Build and maintain a structured cost database by product family and component category (e.g., raw materials, sub-assemblies, cables, connectors, labour, overhead) to enable consistent trending and comparison.

· Ensure data integrity through validation checks, reconciliation between SAP and CM-reported data, and timely resolution of discrepancies.

Cost Analysis & Outlier Identification

· Perform variance analysis comparing actual costs against standard costs, budgets, and historical benchmarks across internal and CM production.

· Develop and maintain automated or semi-automated outlier detection routines to flag abnormal cost movements by product, component, supplier, or production site.

· Investigate root causes of cost outliers and present findings with actionable recommendations to the operations and finance teams.

Insights & Profitability Support

· Deliver regular cost dashboards and reports (weekly/monthly) to ICMM Product Managers & leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for cost reduction.

· Support make-vs-buy analysis and CM cost benchmarking by providing clean, comparable datasets across internal and external production.

· Identify and quantify cost reduction opportunities by component category, production method, and supplier, feeding into continuous improvement and sourcing strategies.

· Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to translate cost data into actionable profitability improvement initiatives.

Process & Tools

· Develop and maintain Excel-based models, templates, and tools for CM cost data collection and standardisation.

· Drive improvements in cost data collection processes, working towards greater automation and reduced manual effort over time.

· Support the transition of manual Excel-based workflows into more scalable solutions (e.g., Power BI dashboards, enhanced SAP reporting) where appropriate.

· Utilize AI tools to continually enhance cost analysis capabilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

· 3–5 years of experience in cost analysis, financial analysis, or manufacturing data analytics, preferably within an electronics manufacturing or connector/cable assembly environment.

· Demonstrated experience working with SAP (CO/FI modules preferred) for cost data extraction and reporting.

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, VBA a plus).

· Experience working with Contract Manufacturers and understanding of outsourced production cost structures is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

· Proficient in SAP cost reporting and data extraction.

· Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI or similar visualisation tools is a strong advantage.

· Familiarity with standard costing, BOM (Bill of Materials) cost roll-ups, and manufacturing overhead allocation.

· Ability to work with large, multi-source datasets and maintain accuracy under time pressure.

Language Requirements

· Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) — required for daily communication with internal Dongguan teams and local stakeholders.

· Fluent in English (written and spoken) — required for cross-regional collaboration with teams & stakeholders.

· Ability to prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations in both languages as needed.

Soft Skills

· Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail — ability to spot patterns, anomalies, and trends in complex datasets.

· Clear and concise communication skills — able to present data insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

· Self-directed and proactive — comfortable working independently to identify issues and propose solutions without waiting for direction.

· Collaborative mindset — effective at working across functions (Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Management) and across geographies (DG, Taiwan, Ireland, Vietnam).
