Job Description
Our client is a Bangladesh-based fintech digitizing the country's under-banked micro, small, and medium enterprises. Over 1 million businesses use their products. Through their lending business, they provide embedded supply chain financing to Mudi dokans and distributors in partnership with leading banks. The lending portfolio is scaling fast, and every credit, collections, and growth decision they make runs on data. This role owns that data.
About the Role
You will be the analytical backbone of the lending team. Underwriting, disbursement, collections, and portfolio health decisions will be made on numbers you produce. If your numbers are wrong, our client will lend to the wrong people or chase the wrong overdue accounts. That is the level of responsibility this role carries.
This is a hands-on lead role. You will build the reporting stack yourself, define the metrics, and set the standard for how the lending team uses data. Prior lending experience is a hard requirement. Our client does not have time to teach you what a DPD bucket or a roll rate is.
Key Responsibilities
- Own all lending analytics end to end: disbursement, repayment, delinquency, recovery, and portfolio health
- Build and maintain the lending reporting suite in Metabase: DPD bucket movements, roll rates and flow rates, NPL tracking, recovery rates, cohort-level repayment behavior, and portfolio concentration
- Write SQL queries to pull, clean, and structure lending data independently
- Produce the reporting our bank partners and leadership rely on: portfolio performance, overdue aging, and settlement reconciliation support
- Analyze borrower and distributor behavior to feed insights back into credit policy and underwriting: who repays, who slips, and what the early warning signals are
- Support collections with data: prioritized overdue lists, bucket-wise flow analysis, and recovery performance tracking
- Identify portfolio risks before they become losses: concentration risk, deteriorating cohorts, and anomalous repayment patterns
- Establish a weekly and monthly reporting cadence that explains why numbers moved, not just what moved
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years in data analysis, with hands-on experience in a lending environment. This is a hard requirement: bank, NBFI, MFI, or fintech lending, working directly with loan portfolio data
- Fluency in lending metrics: DPD buckets, roll rates, NPL, recovery rates, vintage and cohort analysis, and portfolio aging
- Strong SQL skills and experience with a BI tool such as Metabase, Power BI, or Tableau. You will be tested on this
- Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets for modeling and reconciliation work
Proficiency with AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT as part of your daily analytical workflow
- The judgment to know when a number looks wrong, and the discipline to chase it down before it goes into a report Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-analysts: collections staff, leadership, and bank partners
- Experience with MSME, micro-lending, or supply chain finance portfolios
- Exposure to credit scoring or underwriting model development Experience working with bank partner reporting or regulatory reporting formats
