Job Description

The P&C Product and Technology team within the P&C COO division is seeking a Data Analyst Intern who will help develop data analysis services using Python and SQL, contribute to the evolution of the data warehouse, and work on data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.

This six-month internship aims to start in January/February.

The P&C Operations team plays a key role in supporting SCOR’s Property & Casualty business by driving operational efficiency, data quality, and analytics capabilities across underwriting and support functions.

As a Data Analyst Intern within the P&C Operations team, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of data-driven solutions that support operational processes and decision-making.

  • Participate in the design and evolution of the P&C data warehouse, collaborating with IT teams to integrate business data into platforms such as Databricks.
  • Develop data analysis services using Python and create SQL queries for data extraction and reporting (e.g., benchmarking tools, operational monitoring dashboards).
  • Work on data visualization projects using tools like Tableau and Power BI to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Support data quality checks, transformation, and validation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.

This internship offers exposure to data engineering, analytics, and visualization within a global reinsurance environment, providing hands-on experience with modern tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data analysis services using Python and SQL.
  • Design and maintain queries for insurance data in the data lake, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Design and build interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau and Power BI.
  • Perform data cleaning, transformation, and validation for accurate insights.
  • Automate recurring reports and workflows using Power Automate to improve efficiency.
  • Document technical processes and methodologies for transparency and future reference.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing existing tools and workflows.

Qualifications:

  • 2nd Year of Engineering school or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, or Mathematics-related sciences.
  • Business Intelligence (BI) Tools: Power BI, Tableau
  • Data Extraction & Querying: SQL
  • Automation & Workflow: Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot for data and reporting tasks
  • Programming Languages: Python
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Formulas, Pivot Tables, Data Analysis
  • Foundry (Good to Have)
  • AI-Powered Productivity Tools: Familiarity with Copilot features in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Power BI, Teams) for enhanced data analysis and reporting
