Role Summary

The Data Analyst (12-month Contract) reports to the Commercial Data Analyst within the Hill’s ANZ Customer Development – ODG/Retail Marketing team and owns the BI reporting ecosystem across Tableau and Domo. The role focuses on maintaining and optimising dashboards and data flows, managing data pipelines into our BI tools, and partnering closely with CBS data engineers on more complex data engineering, modelling, and pipeline design. You will play a key role in elevating our ANZ reporting and insights ecosystem so that stakeholders have reliable, trusted, and actionable reporting that underpins commercial decision-making across the business.

Responsibilities

  • BI & Reporting (Tableau & Domo): Build, update, and optimise dashboards and data flows, and troubleshoot refresh or data quality issues to ensure reporting reliability.
  • Data Pipelines & Cloud Infrastructure: Query and prepare data using SQL in Snowflake and BigQuery, manage file ingestion via Google Cloud Storage, and partner with IT/CBS data engineers on pipeline fixes and enhancements.
  • Business Partnership & Analytics: Translate commercial stakeholder needs into functional reporting, deliver actionable insights, and promote data accessibility and self-service across teams.
  • Reliability & Adoption: Maintain smooth, accurate, and timely dashboard and pipeline operations so that stakeholders trust and actively use reports to make business decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively improve processes, documentation, and data quality, including contributing to root cause analysis and sustainable fixes for recurring data or reporting issues.
  • Support for Key Initiatives: Support significant ANZ commercial projects and business reviews with insight-led reporting and analysis that highlights trends, performance drivers, and opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst in a cross-functional, business-facing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Tableau (dashboards and Tableau Prep Builder) and Domo.
  • Strong SQL and relational database skills, with practical experience working with Google Cloud Storage, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using Python or R, with the ability to manipulate, transform, and validate data for reporting and analytics purposes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Circana Unity+ or similar syndicated data platforms.
  • Experience with broader data engineering concepts (e.g., ETL/ELT, data modelling, data warehousing), ideally on cloud platforms.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on data issues and contributing to process, documentation, and data quality improvements.
  • Familiarity with Python and/or R for data manipulation and automation beyond basic analysis.
  • Experience harmonising, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets in a commercial, CPG, FMCG, or retail environment.
