Department Overview

The Synergy Promotion Division is a cross-functional organization within the Home Infrastructure Business that works to enhance business synergies.

With a mission to increase cross-usage of products and boost sales and revenue across domains through collaboration within the Rakuten ecosystem, the division is responsible for data analysis, strategy planning and execution, and alliance sales targeting businesses within the Rakuten Group.

Both the home router “Rakuten Turbo” and the fiber-optic service “Rakuten Hikari” leverage Rakuten Group's big data to explore and implement various initiatives.

Furthermore, as a telecommunications provider, we can expand services through enhanced features (such as AI utilization).

Specifically, “Rakuten Turbo” launched in 2023 as a new service utilizing the Rakuten Mobile network. As mobile communication technology advances and network quality improves, it is expanding its market share year by year as next-generation home infrastructure.

In addition, as a retail electricity provider within the Rakuten Group, “Rakuten Denki” offers electricity services to households. We strive to provide users with a reliable, convenient, and cost-effective experience, and are expanding our services with the goal of becoming the No. 1 new electricity provider.

A key feature of the service is its simple design, which replaces the complex and confusing traditional electricity rate plans with a zero-base fee and a single rate per unit of electricity consumed. The service also awards Rakuten Points based on electricity usage and allows customers to pay their electricity bills using these points.
