About the role

At Félix, we are building the future of remittances through a seamless, AI-powered WhatsApp experience. We’re looking for a Disbursement Analyst who is obsessed with making our money transfer experience "insanely great."

You won’t just be pulling data; you will be the guardian of our disbursement efficiency. You will work closely with Disbursements, Operations, and Product Managers to ensure our transactions are fast, cost-effective, and flawless. We need a "natural investigator" who can dive into a dataset to understand why a transaction was held up or where a routing defect occurred, turning those findings into a better, more reliable product for millions of Latino immigrants.



Requirements

  • Disbursement Performance & Metrics: Design and maintain dashboards in BI tools (Omni, a Looker-equivalent) to track the optimal disbursement rails across our core metrics: NPS, Retention, Cost, and Success Rates.
  • Quality Control (The "Holds Initiative"): Deep dive into transactions to identify, categorize, and quantify system defects or instances where transfers are held. You will drive the initiative to reduce these defects as much as possible.
  • Strategic Deep Dives: Handle leadership ad hoc requests, investigating complex routing issues and translating raw data into actionable insights for the business.
  • Routing Optimization: Proactively consider and evaluate alternate routing paths, balancing the tradeoff between cost, speed, and transaction reliability to optimize our process across multiple KPIs.
  • User-Obsessed Insights: Translate complex disbursement and operational metrics into "human stories" for core stakeholders, explaining how reducing defects and holds directly improves the actual user experience on WhatsApp.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve the business, flag them to the team, and monitor the impact of those improvements over time.
  • These are the applicable requisites, although equivalent competencies in any of the above will also be considered.


Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Financial Analyst, or Operations Analyst, ideally within Fintech, Payments, or Product-focused teams.
  • Domain Expertise: Proven 1-2+ years of experience measuring payment rails, transaction routing, or operational KPIs. You should be comfortable discussing success rates, cost analysis, and the tradeoffs between transaction speed and operational cost.
  • Technical Core: Strong SQL skills (you’ll live in BigQuery / DBT / Firestore) and experience with BI tools like Omni / Tableau / PowerBI / Looker or similar.
  • The "Felix" Vibe: A startup mindset—you are proactive, you have a bias towards action, and you don’t wait for permission to fix something that’s broken.
  • Communication: Ability to explain to a non-technical stakeholder why a 1% drop in success rates matters for our users and its impact on other KPIs like NPS and Retention.
  • Language: Advanced English and Spanish or Portuguese (crucial for analyzing our users' regional nuances and working with LatAm partners).


Nice to Have

  • Python Mastery: Experience using Python for data manipulation (Pandas/NumPy) to model complex routing scenarios.
  • GCP Ecosystem: Familiarity with BigQuery, Vertex AI, or Cloud Storage.
  • Start-up DNA: Previous experience in high-growth fintechs, payments, or cross-border money movement companies.
  • Curiosity: A genuine interest in how global payment rails work and staying up-to-date with the latest in fintech infrastructure.
