About the role

The Data Analyst on Insight's AI Development team focuses on discovering, evaluating, and preparing enterprise data to power AI-driven applications and solutions. Rather than traditional BI reporting, this role is centered on understanding our diverse data landscape and ensuring the right data is identified, structured, and made available for AI initiatives across the business. You will work closely with AI Developers, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to connect enterprise data to intelligent solutions. Along the way, you will get to:

• Explore and map enterprise data sources to identify relevant datasets for use in AI applications and intelligent automation initiatives.
• Evaluate data quality, completeness, and relevance to determine readiness for AI consumption.
• Partner with AI Developers and Data Engineers to structure and prepare data for AI pipelines and model integration.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand domain-specific data and translate business context into data requirements for the development team.
• Document data sources, schemas, relationships, and business logic to support transparency and reusability across projects.
• Support model evaluation efforts by analyzing data quality issues that may affect AI output accuracy.
• Build Power BI dashboards as needed to track adoption and performance metrics for AI initiatives.

What we’re looking for

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or Data Steward with a focus on data discovery and exploration.

• SQL: Advanced SQL skills for querying and joining data across relational and lakehouse platforms.

• Data Platforms: Familiarity with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms for exploring large-scale datasets.

• Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to navigate unfamiliar data structures and understand underlying business logic.

• Business Acumen: Working knowledge of common enterprise functions (finance, operations, sales, HR) to effectively navigate diverse datasets.

• Programming: Basic proficiency in Python for data exploration is a plus.

• Communication: Excellent English communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

• Nice to Have: Experience with data cataloging tools; familiarity with AI/ML concepts; experience in a Microsoft Azure environment.
