We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to join BP Supply, Trading & Shipping. This role will be crucial in demonstrating data to drive informed commercial decisions, ensuring data quality, and contributing to our data strategy and governance initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support commercial objectives.
- Execute data cleansing and transformation processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Integrate data from various sources, applying robust Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) methodologies.
- Develop and maintain data management practices to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Manipulate large datasets to extract relevant information and support analytical requirements.
- Proactively identify and source new data opportunities to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of BP's data strategy and governance frameworks.
- Create compelling data visualizations and interpret complex data findings for diverse audiences.
- Collaborate effectively in group problem-solving sessions to address data-related challenges.
- Adhere to digital security protocols and best practices in all data handling activities.
Job Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data analysis, with a strong understanding of various analytical techniques.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to translate data insights into business value.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for presenting complex data clearly.
- Proficiency in data cleansing and transformation tools and methodologies.
- Strong data domain knowledge relevant to the energy sector (preferred).
- Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
- Solid understanding of data management principles and best practices.
- Advanced skills in data manipulation using relevant software (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
- Ability to effectively source and evaluate new data opportunities.
- Familiarity with data strategy and governance concepts.
- Expertise in data visualization tools and interpreting complex data outputs.
- Awareness of digital security principles and data privacy regulations.
- Strong collaborative and group problem-solving abilities.
