Job Description


The Data Analysis Scientist will support agricultural and biological research through the analysis, interpretation and visualization of complex scientific datasets.

The position will apply data-analysis tools and approaches, including AI, Python and R, to analyze multi-omics, population and experimental data, generate meaningful scientific insights, and support research projects in crop science and related fields.

The position will also contribute to scientific publications, research proposal development, postgraduate student supervision and research management.


Requirements


  • International background: Be a national of a country participating in the Belt and Road Initiative or another developing country.

  • Professional experience: Have formal employment experience in the above-mentioned countries and be engaged in scientific research.

  • Academic qualification: Hold a PhD or Master's degree with at least six years of relevant experience, with an academic background in mathematics, genetics, genomics, bioinformatics or a related field.

  • Scientific publications: Demonstrated record of publishing multiple high-impact papers in internationally recognized academic journals.

  • Scientific expertise: Demonstrate a high level of scientific expertise or research potential, including the ability to work with complex genetic datasets and support the organization and management of transgenic research projects.

  • Age and health: Be under 45 years of age as of the application date and in good health.

  • Communication and teamwork: Demonstrate strong independent working ability, teamwork and excellent communication skills in English or Chinese.

  • Availability and compliance: Be able to work full-time in China for 12 months, collaborate with Chinese researchers and comply with applicable Chinese laws, regulations and relevant institutional requirements.

  • Data-analysis experience: Demonstrated relevant experience in scientific research data analysis.
