Job Description

Bring your ‘you’ to TPG Telecom, and help us build meaningful relationships and support vibrant, connected communities. We’re better and bolder together.

TPG Telecom started with a belief that we can make things better for Australians. We believe in the power of meaningful relationships to support vibrant, connected communities where everyone belongs. It’s our why; our reason to exist. Now, we’re proud to be one of Australia’s leading mobile and internet providers. We’re not just redefining telco, we’re changing its course. And you play a role in that. A big one. The opportunities are plenty for those who are ready to accept the challenge.

Could that be you?

Your opportunity:

As our valued Data and AI Product Lead within the Data and AI Centre of Excellence (CoE), you will be responsible for driving the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of data and artificial intelligence products and solutions within TPG Telecom.

This role sits at the intersection of business, technology, and customer experience, ensuring that data and AI initiatives deliver meaningful value to the business and our customers.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, business stakeholders, and external partners. You will also be responsible for delivery of business use cases, ensuring adoption and value realisation. Noting that your work may cover a variety of business units, products, and customer segments, you will work to holistically understand business challenges, consult on solutions, and maintain a bias for action over academic perfection.

You'll make impact by:

  • Defining and communicating the strategy and roadmap for data and AI products aligned to TPGT’s overall business objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into safe, ethical and impactful data and AI product requirements.
  • Developing strong relationships with business units in order to identify and holistically understand business challenges within the organisation.
  • Prioritising product features and backlog items, balancing customer value, technical feasibility, and strategic impact.
  • Managing the end-to-end lifecycle of data and AI products, from ideation and design through to deployment, ongoing optimisation and monitoring.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to deliver prioritised use cases within the backlog, ensuring business adoption and value realisation.
  • Collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and analysts to develop and refine models, algorithms, and analytics solutions within organisations policies and guardrails.
  • Working with other CoE resources to monitor product performance, usage, and outcomes, to inform iterative improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant data governance, responsible AI, privacy, and security regulations.
  • Championing data-driven decision making, robust automations, and foster a culture of innovation within the organisation.
  • Engaging with customers, partners, and vendors to identify opportunities and incorporate external insights into product development.
  • Preparing and present product pitches, updates, business cases, and progress reports to senior leadership.
  • Supporting an innovative and collaborative culture within your team and the CoE.

What you’ll bring:

  • 7+ years of work experience applying varied data solutions to solve business problems.
  • A background in analytics or data science, along with proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in data, analytics, or AI/ML.
  • Experience with end-to-end data and AI product lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills. Someone who can create compelling presentations to senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and product management best practices.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into technical requirements and vice versa.
  • Track record of leading high-impact, cross-functional projects from ideation to strategy and implementation.
  • Ability to manage and deliver two or more end-to-end projects along with ongoing work.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills.
  • Excellent business acumen and judgment.
  • A “solutions mindset” of natural curiosity and a strong motivation to solve problems, no matter how complicated or ambiguous they might be.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, a fast-paced environment, and shifting priorities.
  • University degree in a relevant discipline - such as computer science, data science, engineering, business/ commerce, or equivalent experience.

What's in it for you?

  • Flexible hybrid way of working (from home and office)
  • ‘Stay Connected Mobile’ – Access to a free mobile plan
  • ‘Stay Connected NBN’ – Access to a free, high‑speed NBN plan (up to 500 Mbps)
