Job Description

As a Data & AI Governance Lead, you are the driving force behind embedding a data- and AI-driven mindset across Luminus. You ensure that governance is not just a control function but a true business enabler, laying the foundation for ethical, compliant, and impactful data and AI solutions in a highly regulated and fast-evolving energy context.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain clear, actionable governance policies and frameworks for data and AI, aligned with our architectural vision and business priorities.

  • Translate complex concepts into practical guidelines that empower business teams and ensure compliance with GDPR, EU Data Act, and AI Act.

  • Embed AI governance into existing processes, minimizing overhead and ensuring responsible and scalable AI usage across the organization.

  • Coordinate closely with architecture, platform and security teams to integrate governance-by-design principles into tools, platforms and delivery practices.

  • Monitor governance KPIs such as data quality, compliance maturity, and AI risk classification, and transparently report progress to stakeholders.

  • Facilitate the Data Governance Board and AI Governance Board, driving decisions, alignment and measurable outcomes.

What you bring

  • Strong expertise in data governance principles, metadata management, and regulatory frameworks in complex or regulated environments.

  • Solid understanding of AI governance, ethical AI principles, and risk-based approaches, with the ability to balance innovation and compliance.

  • A strategic mindset combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across business and IT.

  • Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration, influencing without direct authority.

  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and tools (Snowflake, DBT, AWS), including hands-on knowledge of data catalogs and AI lifecycle management tools.

  • 5–10 years of experience in data governance, AI governance, or IT governance.

For this role, we are looking for someone to join us as a permanent employee, based in Belgium.

What you’ll get in return?

The energy sector is one of the most rewarding industries in Belgium with a highly rewarding compensation and benefits package:

  • Competitive compensation: Attractive salary with a performance-based bonus that can be optimized to your personal preferences, plus meal vouchers.

  • Insurance & social benefits: Group insurance and hospitalization coverage for the entire family. Additional reimbursement for healthcare and pharmaceutical costs.

  • Mobility: Full reimbursement for public transport, kilometer-based cycling reimbursement and flexible mobility choices: you can choose between a company car or mobility budget.

  • Internet & communication: Home internet covered, reimbursement for a personal mobile device with a phone subscription.

  • Home Office: A fully-equipped home office, including an ergonomical ICT set-up.

  • Exclusive discounts: 30% off gas and electricity after six months, discounts on energy-saving services (e.g., solar panels, heat pumps) and reduced prices on top brands, amusement parks, festivals and more.

  • You’ll shape the future of data and AI governance in a sustainability-driven energy company with strong societal impact.

  • You work at the crossroads of business, data and AI, influencing strategic decisions at enterprise level.

  • You join a mature yet evolving data & AI landscape where governance is seen as an enabler, not a blocker.

  • You work and connect with your colleagues at a Luminus office or from home. Need some flexibility? Your manager is open to discuss what works.
