Agency Overview Our mission is to serve injured workers and Ohio employers through expeditious and impartial resolution of issues arising from workers’ compensation claims and through the establishment of adjudication policy.The Ohio Industrial Commission (OIC), Office of Management Planning, is seeking a knowledgeable Data Administration Manager. The successful candidate must have supervisory experience, as well as knowledge of data processing systems or business &/or public administration.
What You'll Do:Under general direction supervises Data Analytics staff ensuring adherence to documentation criteria for reports, assessments & derived data;Collaborates with assigned staff in developing new reporting and analytical solutionsManages work assignmentsProvides technical assistance to ensure appropriate collection and use of data;Assists other analytics office professionalsConducts research and assists with resolution of complex data issuesProvides access to data with context for decision makingAnalyzes data and prepares reports for performance measurementAssists staff with data access and manipulationSearch large data sets for usable informationCreates reports and presentations for business usesCorrelates similar data to find actionable resultsExtracts data from multiple sources & systemsIdentifies & catalogs appropriate dataAccesses databases & other source systems, coordinates with business subject matter experts & IT staff in order to ensure validity & completeness of data models & transformationsApplies advanced statistical analysis & visualization techniques to identify data trends & relationshipsUtilizes analytics techniques to discover, confirm, & document associations, predictive models, & algorithmsApplies analytical results to address practical business problems & opportunities in a format accessible to non-technical staff & stakeholdersProvides guidance to business leaders regarding interpretation & applicability of findings in a business context (e.g. program effectiveness, resource allocation, utilization patterns)Presents summary findings & recommendations to agency leadersOperationalizes analytics processesCollaborates with IT staff to select deployment methodsIdentifies and documents best practicesTrains peers & business staff in use of analytics tools and techniquesRemains current with relevant innovations and industry trends.See the attached position description for more details regarding this position.Why Work for the State of OhioAt the State of Ohio, we take care of the team that cares for Ohioans. Completion of undergraduate core program in business or public administration or data processing/computer science/information systems technology; 2 yrs. exp. or 2 yrs. trg. in which included responsibility for developing standards for new & existing data definition, product evaluation, recommending software selection, design & development of data bases to include security measures/controls & how data is to be accumulated maintained, archived & removed from system.

This position may require travel; therefore, the person occupying this position must be able to provide his/her own transportation &/or legally operate a state-owned vehicle.This is an on-site position and in-office presence is required.The hourly wage for this position is not negotiable.
