Travel Percentage: NoneWe are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Dance Instructor to join our team! This position involves teaching a variety of dance styles—including ballet, tap, hip-hop, and more—in a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about inspiring dancers of all ages and skill levels, with a particular excitement for working with young dancers ages 3–6 for ballet, tap and hip-hop.
Position Details
- Commitment: January 5th - May 23rd, 2026.
- Schedule: Saturdays (approximately 9:00am-1:00pm). Additional weekday availability a plus.
- Styles: Must be able to teach ages 3–6 in ballet/tap combo and hip-hop; ability to teach additional styles and age groups is a plus
- Starting pay is $18 to $20 per hour depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead dance classes for ages 3–18 as well as adults of varying skill levels
- Teach proper technique and form in a variety of dance styles including Ballet, Lyrical, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Acrobatics
- Develop age-appropriate lesson plans with fun and engaging activities to keep students motivated
- Assess each student’s skill level and adapt teaching methods as needed
- Ensure a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment for all participants
- Provide individualized feedback and encouragement to help dancers improve their skills and confidence
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and fellow instructors

QualificationsRequirements
- Background and/or experience in multiple dance styles, with strong knowledge of proper technique and safety guidelines
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to work with children of all ages and skill levels
- Skill in creating and modifying lesson plans to meet student needs
- Passion for teaching dance and inspiring growth and confidence
- Reliable, punctual, and professional with a strong work ethic
- Must pass a background check

The great partnership with the Blue Valley School District allows Blue Valley Rec to contain costs to patrons.
