Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): Class Assistant for Dance 106- Ballroom I movement intensive dance class. The Class Assistant will assist the course instructor by helping to demonstrate course movement material, assisting students during class, helping take attendance, and may run practice sessions outside of the regular class period.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Help demonstrate course movement material
-Assist students during the class period with learning movement material
-Help track course attendance
-Run practice sessions outside of the regular class time (if necessary)
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
-Ballroom Dance experience beyond the beginning level
-Has taken the Ballroom I dance class before (required)
Has taken Ballroom II (206) and/or The Art of Couple Dancing (207) before (not required but greatly preferred)
-The ability to demonstrate ballroom dance movement material accurately and clearly
-The ability to help students learn movement material during class
-Organizational skills for tracking student attendance
-Leadership and pedagogy skills to run practice sessions
-Interpersonal skills
-The ability to work independently with integrity
-Must have the ballroom dance class period free and attend all class meetings
-Must be dependable, responsible, and punctual
Physical and Environmental Factors:
This position requires crouching, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, and repetitive motions to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, vibrations, and wet or humid conditions indoors to perform the essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
