This is a practical, varied role where you’ll build strong foundations and develop your skills while working as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
You’ll be assisting with everything from milking and calving through to feeding stock, spraying and general farm work. Alongside this, you’ll have the opportunity to learn the systems and skills that come with working on a progressive farm - including shed and animal health management.
This role is well suited to someone who enjoys being hands-on, has a genuine interest in farming, and is keen to grow their career in an environment that encourages learning and shared responsibility.
You’ll be provided with high-quality PPE and supported by a strong health and safety culture, working with well-maintained, up-to-date farm equipment.

Thompsons Dairy Unit is conveniently located just fifteen minutes from Reefton and 50 minutes from Greymouth.
This expansive 300-hectare farm operates a 54-bail rotary system with ACRs and Milkhub, efficiently milking two herds totalling nearly 700 cows at peak production.
