Responsibilities / Tasks
You will be working hands-on with advanced dairy systems, supporting farmers with essential equipment that keeps their operations running smoothly. Your day will typically involve visiting farms and customer sites between 08:15 – 17:00, with time spent in the Honiton office when not on-site.
Technical Service & Maintenance
Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on Automatic (AMS) and Conventional Milking Systems (CMS)
Perform repairs, servicing, upgrades, and installations
Slurry Equipment Support
Maintain and install slurry handling and manure management systems
On-Call Support
Take part in a rota providing out-of-hours technical support across your region
Documentation & Reporting
Complete service reports, record parts usage, and track time accurately
Quality, Safety & Compliance (QSHE)
Follow and promote best practices in safety, quality, and environmental standards
Customer Service & Business Growth
Deliver excellent customer service
Represent Venture Dairy Services professionally
Build strong relationships with customers
Your Profile / Qualifications
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Comfortable using MS Office
Experience as a Dairy Technician (desirable)
OR a background in electrical/mechanical engineering
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults
Full UK Category B driving licence (endorsements must be declared)
Willingness to travel across the Southwest (and occasionally to the Channel Islands)
Comfortable working outdoors, in all weather conditions and farm environments
