Role Overview: The Senior D365 Supply Chain Management Consultant will provide functional leadership and application support within a Managed Services engagement. The role is responsible for maintaining service stability, resolving business-critical issues, delivering approved enhancements, and driving continuous improvement across the D365 Finance and Operations landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 functional support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, with primary ownership of Supply Chain Management modules.
  • Manage incidents, service requests, problems, and changes in accordance with agreed service levels, priorities, and support processes.
  • Investigate issues, perform root-cause analysis, recommend sustainable resolutions, and maintain clear functional documentation and knowledge articles.
  • Lead functional triage for high-priority and business-critical incidents, coordinate with technical, integration, infrastructure, and client teams, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Configure and support relevant SCM capabilities, including product information, procurement and sourcing, sales order processing, inventory, warehouse management, master planning, manufacturing, quality, transportation, landed cost, and asset management, based on project scope.
  • Assess enhancement requests, clarify business requirements, perform fit-gap and impact analysis, prepare functional designs, and support estimation and prioritization.
  • Support testing across fixes, changes, integrations, data corrections, regression cycles, and business acceptance; maintain test evidence and coordinate business sign-off.
  • Plan and support controlled releases using Lifecycle Services and Azure DevOps, including deployment readiness, validation, rollback considerations, and post-release monitoring.
  • Monitor recurring issues and service trends, identify automation and optimization opportunities, and contribute to problem management and continuous service improvement.
  • Support D365 interfaces, integrations, batch processes, data entities, and downstream dependencies in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Participate in service reviews and provide accurate updates on ticket status, risks, dependencies, ageing, backlog, and improvement actions.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures, configuration documents, support guides, known-error records, and end-user training material.
  • Mentor junior consultants, conduct quality reviews, share knowledge, and promote consistent support practices across the delivery team.
  • Maintain awareness of the D365 product roadmap and release changes; assess potential impact and recommend appropriate adoption or remediation actions.
  • Support transition-to-service activities for new implementations and enhancements, including knowledge transfer, operational acceptance, hypercare, and support-readiness reviews.
  • Collaborate effectively with onsite and offshore teams and provide support across agreed business hours, including occasional on-call or planned out-of-hours release coverage where required.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong hands-on functional experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management in production support, Managed Services, or post-go-live environments.
  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes and expertise in one or more areas such as procurement, inventory, warehouse management, master planning, manufacturing, sales, transportation, quality, landed cost, or asset management.
  • Demonstrated experience resolving complex production issues, performing root-cause analysis, and coordinating fixes across functional and technical teams.
  • Working knowledge of incident, problem, change, release, and service-request management principles, with the ability to operate against SLAs and defined priorities.
  • Experience gathering requirements, preparing fit-gap assessments and functional design documents, and delivering small enhancements through controlled change processes.
  • Experience with D365 interfaces, integrations, data entities, batch processing, security considerations, and data troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Lifecycle Services and Azure DevOps for work-item management, test coordination, release tracking, and documentation.
  • Strong testing capability, including functional, regression, integration, and user-acceptance testing; knowledge of RSAT is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, stakeholder-management, documentation, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with business users and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, mentor junior team members, and collaborate across onsite and offshore delivery teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Willingness to provide planned out-of-hours or on-call support when required by the engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate, Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect, or an equivalent current role-based credential.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or practical experience working in an ITIL-aligned service environment.
  • Experience supporting Shared Services, global delivery, or nearshore/offshore operating models.
  • Knowledge of Power Platform, Power BI, Finance and Operations technical architecture, D365 Copilot/Agents, or relevant Azure services.
  • Exposure to presales activities, service transition, operational readiness, and solution estimation.
  • Experience conducting functional interviews, coaching consultants, and contributing to practice development.

Success in this role: Success will be measured through service-level performance, quality and timeliness of resolutions, reduction of recurring incidents, stakeholder satisfaction, documentation quality, and contribution to service improvement.
