Microsoft D365 ESS Sustainability & Data Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft ESS Sustainability Engineer to deliver, operate, support, and continually improve enterprise business applications, data platforms, analytics, integrations, and AI solutions within a Managed Services environment. The role combines hands-on solution engineering, application support, functional and technical analysis, technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and service governance across Microsoft Sustainability Manager, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Power BI, and Microsoft AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support across Microsoft Sustainability Manager, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, data, analytics, integration, and AI services, resolving incidents, requests, problems, and changes within agreed service levels.
• Monitor service health, performance, security, availability, capacity, cost, data freshness, integrations, pipelines, and AI services; implement alerts, preventive controls, automated recovery, root-cause analysis, and permanent fixes.
• Translate business and operational requirements into supportable functional and technical designs, estimates, implementation plans, test scenarios, and documentation.
• Design, build, optimize, and support secure, scalable solutions across Dynamics 365, Microsoft Sustainability Manager, Power Platform, Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Power BI, SharePoint, and Microsoft AI capabilities.
• Engineer and troubleshoot data models, applications, flows, pipelines, lakehouses, semantic models, reports, APIs, real-time and batch integrations, and responsible AI solutions across Microsoft and third-party platforms.
• Apply data quality, lineage, metadata, retention, privacy, security, resilience, disaster recovery, data-loss prevention, environment, connector, and responsible AI governance standards.
• Maintain solution designs, configuration workbooks, test plans/scripts, knowledge articles, and transition materials; track Microsoft releases, deprecations, and platform changes affecting supported services.
• Lead technical reviews, communicate service status and risks, support governance and capacity planning, deliver user guidance, and participate in planned out-of-hours support when required.

Required Experience and Technical Skills

• Typically 3+ years of experience across Dynamics 365, Microsoft Sustainability Manager, Power Platform, Azure Data services, analytics, integration, and/or AI, including substantial hands-on experience with Microsoft cloud technologies.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting production systems or delivering services within an enterprise Managed Services or application support model.
• Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 and Sustainability data models and integration patterns across Finance and Operations, Customer Engagement and Sustainability applications.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Power Apps canvas and model-driven applications, Power Automate, Microsoft Dataverse, and Power BI.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, notebooks, Spark, SQL endpoints, and semantic models.
• Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, security, disaster recovery, high availability, cloud cost optimisation, and responsible AI controls.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical workstreams, independently estimate work, resolve complex production issues, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Business Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate.
• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
• Relevant Microsoft Power Platform certification, such as Functional Consultant Associate, Developer Associate, or Solutions Architect Expert.
• Relevant Microsoft Dynamics 365 certification.

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to Power Platform Center of Excellence practices, platform adoption, maker enablement, and governance at scale.
• Experience with enterprise service-management tools and formal service reporting.
• Experience supporting Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, or Sustainability solutions.
