What You’ll Do
As a Cytotechnologist, you will work closely with Pathologists and laboratory professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information that directly impacts patient care.
Responsibilities include:
Examine gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens according to established laboratory protocols
Perform microscopic evaluation and interpretation of cytologic specimens
Participate in fine needle aspiration (FNA) adequacy assessment procedures
Prepare non-gynecologic specimens using smear, cytocentrifugation, and filtration techniques
Document findings and maintain required workload and regulatory records
Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and staining solutions
Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities
Communicate effectively with Pathologists, physicians, nurses, and laboratory colleagues
Assist with training and mentoring students and new team members
Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, accreditation, and laboratory safety standards

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline with Cytotechnology certification program completion
CT (ASCP) certification p referred
One year of Cytology experience
Experience with fine needle aspiration adequacy assessment

Hourly Pay Range: $38.22 - $61.16This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
