What You’ll Do

As a Cytotechnologist, you will work closely with Pathologists and laboratory professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information that directly impacts patient care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Examine gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens according to established laboratory protocols

  • Perform microscopic evaluation and interpretation of cytologic specimens

  • Participate in fine needle aspiration (FNA) adequacy assessment procedures

  • Prepare non-gynecologic specimens using smear, cytocentrifugation, and filtration techniques

  • Document findings and maintain required workload and regulatory records

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and staining solutions

  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities

  • Communicate effectively with Pathologists, physicians, nurses, and laboratory colleagues

  • Assist with training and mentoring students and new team members

  • Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, accreditation, and laboratory safety standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline with Cytotechnology certification program completion

  • CT (ASCP) certification p referred

  • One year of Cytology experience

  • Experience with fine needle aspiration adequacy assessment

Hourly Pay Range: $38.22 - $61.16This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
