Purpose of Role/Summary:

The Compliance and AML Officer will be responsible for the CySEC-regulated Company’s Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering functions. The position assumes full accountability, supervision, review, ownership and responsibility of all the relevant decisions, processes, policies and systems used by these functions.

The role further entails overseeing and managing all the compliance matters of the Company, meeting all pertinent regulatory submissions and deadlines, and generally ensuring the maintenance of high compliance levels for the Company.

Main Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive compliance programme that ensures adherence to CySEC regulations, as well as all relevant laws and industry standards across the European region
  • Cover both the AML and Regulatory Compliance functions
  • Be responsible for the complete and accurate provision of regulatory information required both internally (business stakeholders) and externally (regulatory bodies, auditors, etc.)
  • Provide advice, guidance and assistance on compliance-related matters, as well as training to members of other departments, as necessary from time to time
  • Handle pertinent communications with the relevant regulators and other supervisory authorities as may apply
  • Analyse new compliance legislation, market developments and developments in the local and EU regulatory framework, and propose relevant implementation plans
  • Review and identify compliance risks associated with business practices, third-party agreements, products and services, and propose and implement mitigation actions for those risks
  • Produce and submit periodic compliance and AML reports to the Company’s management and to the regulatory bodies
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the annual compliance risk assessment and monitoring programs of the Company, reflecting the organization’s unique characteristics, and periodically revise these programs in light of emerging regulatory/compliance requirements
  • Coordinate internal compliance reviews and monitoring activities, including periodic reviews of departments, and independently investigate and act on any matters related to compliance
  • Review and approve marketing materials, websites, social media content and promotional campaigns for regulatory compliance and accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, complaints or incidents in a timely and effective manner
  • Any other duties that are requested and relevant to the role

Required Skills & Experience:

  • University degree in Law, Business, Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Economics, Financial Mathematics or a related field
  • Holder of the CySEC Advanced and AML Certificates is a must
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a senior or leadership role in compliance within the financial services or investment industry, with a focus on European regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of CySEC regulations, as well as other relevant laws and regulations pertaining to online trading, CFDs and FX products across the European region
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Greek
